I'm just wondering how early you should tell your bridesmaids/groomsmen that you want them to be in your wedding???

I would wait until you have a year or so to go. Believe me when I say a lot of friendships change after you get engaged and start planning, you realize who your true friends are.

I asked all my bridesmaids at the same time I told them I was engaged. Being in a wedding is so expensive that I think the more notice the better. If you know who you want now, I see no problem with asking. I told my girls 15 months before the wedding.

I say as soon as you are sure that you have the lsit go for it. I would make sure you have plans to tell them all within the same week or so because otherwise people may end up feeling like they were less important than other BM's if you can find a way to ask them all at one even better!

I asked my witness when we were originally 2 years out. We've been friends for over 7 years and it was a no brainer to ask her. We ended up shifting the wedding forward a year so it was a good thing I told her as she needed to get a visa to come over. DH asked his witness around 10 months out.

I asked my MOH (sister) around 14 months out, and I am sending out my BM packages tomorrow- 12 months out.

I wanted to wait until I had a venue, so that I could be sure that the number of girls I had could fit up there and not look silly.
