We had my e-ring and bands made at the same time so 18 months (more actually) before our big day. It was killer knowing that there were diamonds around the house that I couldn’t wear!

I don’t think it is ever too soon to start looking at jewelery.

I don’t think that it is too early to start looking–it’s better to look earlier rather than later.  We already bought his wedding band and we are QUITE a ways out 😉

We got our bands 5 months before.

I’m glad we didn’t wait too long because after waiting months for them to come in they ordered the wrong size for me and had to send it back to be made smaller.  I would have been nervous if it was any closer to the wedding.

Honestly- we just got mine (well ordered it about 4 weeks ago- got it on Tuesday). and we got his about a month ago. And we have 2.5 months to go. So you can start looking now- but also know you can wait!

We bought ours in May, and we’re getting married in February…so…almost nine months out.

I got mine a year and a half before.

I knew I was getting a Birks band so I shopped on craigslist for gift cards I spent $800 and got $1500 in gift cards. Then it was customer appriciation with an additional 10% off so I went in a bought the ring a year and a half out.

We bought it ASAP due to the rising cost of precious metals at that time. We wanted to buy it before they increased their prices.

I got mine a year before the wedding. We wanted to get it from the same jeweler my e-ring is from and that jeweler is 3 hours away. We happened to be there a year before so we just got it. We bought DH’s about six months before the wedding because he left left out. 🙂

My e-ring was part of a wedding set, so we’ve had my bands since the beginning.  His ring we bought in February during a stop at the jewelry store to get my ring cleaned. Our goal was to take care of all the little things (price-wise) early on before the major costs hit closer to the wedding.  We got our rings engraved a few weeks ago, and now our rings are mostly taken care of except for getting my e-ring redipped a few weeks before the wedding.
