@icanhearyousmile:  I am down to two months left and not as far as I probably should be.

What’s left:

-Book honeymoon

-Buy wedding bands

-Pick out tuxes, get everyone fitted

-Marriage license

-Dress alterations

-Finalize playlists, meet with DJ

-Plan rehearsal dinner

-Print programs

-Print place cards (as RSPVs are coming in)

-Get dance lessons

I’m sure I’m missing a few things!  HA  It’s gonna be full throttle to the end now for me.  Good luck with yours!

We have exactly 3 months to go and I couldn’t sleep last night because I’m feeling stressed abou things that still need to be done.

Here is what we have done: venue/church booked, florist, photographer, and dj booked, wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses are in, got the bridesmaids jewelry, in the process of putting together info for the programs, got my jewelry and had my hair/makeup trial and booked stylist, honeymoon booked, favors and card box are in the process of being made by a family friend, limo booked

Have not done: haven’t gotten our wedding bands, invitations are in but not addressed yet, haven’t gotten bridal party gifts, haven’t started centerpieces yet, havent ordered the cake yet, our food tasting with the caterer is next week, haven’t gotten my shoes yet or my dress fitted yet, have to get passport for honeymoon

It feels like there is sooo much to be done still. You seem to be more organized than me!! Ha!! It doesn’t help that we are on a tight budget and FI keeps getting mad at “extra” expenses coming up and the fact that we have gone over budget on some things. It sucks but the 2 things we have left to do (wedding bands and cake) we are really having to scrimp on since we went over budget on the other items.

Can anyone else relate?? Will I get all of this done in 3 months and maintain my sanity??!

@icanhearyousmile:  I’m doing assigned tables but we are also doing entree selection, so I have to denote each person’s name card by food choice for the servers.  A little extra work, but it’s not bad and I can do it as the RSVPs come in.

Have you sorted and finalised the ceremony yet? That can take a long time. Also, I sent out my invitations 6 months before the wedding, but I realise that the custom in the US is to send out invitations at a much later date.

Menus? Have you finalised those? How about hotels and transport arrangements? Just throwing ideas out there… what’s still on your to-do list?

@icanhearyousmile:  You know better than I do what’s left to do! I had soooo much left at this stage. Are you using Project Wedding’s checklist? They’re pretty good.

Mind you, I had lots to do because I was doing a completely DIY wedding, so I had all my bunting to sew, and things like that.

@icanhearyousmile:  I wanted to ask because this is very important. For me in my area, we had to get the marriage license within 30 days of getting married, is it different for your area? Because if you get it wrong, the marriage license will expire and you will have to re-apply for another one.

I’m not there yet, but at 6 months all I have left to do is:

  • Finish favors, centerpieces and table decor
  • Engagement pictures
  • Get groomsmen outfits
  • Print programs
  • Seating chart
  • Set up the shuttle bus booking
  • Decide on vows and ceremony music to tell officiant
  • Marriage license obviously
  • Mail invites
  • Iron and hang tablecloths so they don’t wrinkle
  • Alterations for everyone

The majority of this stuff I plan to have done in the next few months, so by 3 months I shouldn’t have too much left.
