How far in advance before the wedding are you getting your nails done?

Probably about 3-4 days early. That way if I hate them, I’ll have time to change them.

That’s strange…do you get acrylic or gels?

@peachbaby4008: one uses white and pink powders (acrylics) and gels are more of a thick gooey (gel) like substance.

@peachbaby4008:  I have the same problem, but I got mine done the day before and popped some ibuprofen before bed. I was fine the day of.

I’m just the MOB, so mine(solar acrylics) will be done Wednesday before the Friday evening wedding.  The bride, bridesmaids and MOG will have theirs done (all gel manicures) in the hotel spa a few hours before the rehearsal dinner on Thursday.  I’ll be there to take photos, bring champagne, etc. and won’t have to worry about having enough time for my nails.

Yikes… I’d change how I did my nails if I were you! That doesn’t sound fun. I did shellac the day before the wedding and loved it. It held up wonderfully through my whole honeymoon.

@peachbaby4008:  you really shouldn’t have any pain or discomfort from getting nails. that suggests to me that you possibly have some sort of allergy to some of the products. Have you thought about getting shellacs? They are much much less abrasive and hard on your nail follicles.

I got mine done the day before. It was the only day my mom and sister were off work.

I had acrylics for the first time before my wedding last Saturday. My nails were sore the day of so I was glad I had thought ahead and done them on wednesday. It didn’t hurt but it was uncomfortable in the same way wearing nail polish can be uncomfortable if you havent done it for a while.

I got them done Thursday night before a Saturday wedding. I got get polish because I didn’t want to worry about them chipping on the honeymoon.
