My Maid/Matron of Honor sisters have been super slow with planning my bachelorette party. They checked with my bridesmaids and planned on having it on October 19th. It was just going to be dinner and drinks so nothing over the top, but I had a mini-freakout yesterday when I realized that it’s scheduled for two weeks and they still haven’t sent out the invitations, which means the guests will have less than a week to RSVP and I’m just worried that no one is going to come. Should we just push it back a few weeks? Is it not a big deal to receive an invitation so close to the date of the actual party?

Are you actually sending real invitations? I think it depends on how you guys came upon the date – did everyone agree to it already? Or was it picked by one person?
The way I did it when I planned it for my friend was that I picked the date of the shower and then sent an email (sorta a “save the date”) to let everyone know it’s the night of the shower. Then, I went on paperless post (it’s a website where you can send pretty invites) and sent invites that way. We got a good turnaround and I probably did it over a month in advance. However, I gave no one an option of picking another date – so if the whole group had agreed on a date, I probably would have never done invites/rsvps.

We are sending real invites. My sisters talked to my bridesmaids and they all said that date was good, but I’m just worried about the other guests.

Invites for my bachelorette were sent out two MONTHS before hand!
If you’re inviting by e-mail/FB, I think the date is probably okay, but if you’re sending out paper invites, you may want to push it back a little!
