How far did out did you book your engagement photo session? From the day you booked the session (if different from the day you booked your photog) to the day of your session. (Not from the day of your session to the day of your wedding.)
Also did you do it on a weekend? Or did you take a day off of work?
I’m looking to do them in the Fall. Probably Septemberish.

We booked the photographer in October 2012 and did our engagement pics in June 2013. We did our pics on a Sunday, as Saturdays were very busy with weddings for our photographer!

@beeintraining: I voted before I read the question. 2 months between booking it and the session, 7+ months between the session and the wedding. We’re between two dates and have set a deadline to decide 12 months prior to the earlier date, our engagement pictures will be the next day. It’ll be on a weekend.

We got engaged December 2012, and did our photos pretty early (March 2013) for our June 2014 wedding because our photographer was doing a half-price special during that month!
We booked it in February because she was doing the special for Valentine’s, and did the shoot first week of March.
We did our engagement photos on a Saturday, so we didn’t have to take off school/work. But now, I work full time so I’m going to have to use one of my personal days for my bridals in April.

I booked my photographer in October and have my engagement photos in upcoming April… we have to take day off for it as one of the location I requested only open during weekday

Oh, I misunderstood the question. Booked the session in January 2012, took pics in May.

@beeintraining: We weren’t planning on doing an engagement shoot but won one for free from a bridal show! We won the engagement shoot in November…and did our photo shoot that January. We did the shoot at the Pasadena Courthouse (which is absolutely beautiful, the photo shoot was actually the first time I had been there!) and the shoot was on a Sat since both Fiance and I work m-f

I shoot the majority of engagement sessions from May-October on weekenights. The light is much better. No need to take a day off work.

We booked ours in May last year and had it done last month

we booked our photographer in october, booked our engagement photos in april, and had them done in june. and i believe we did them on a sunday. we took our pics during our vacation, so i just told the photograper what days we’d be there and she picked the day.

We booked our photographer in June 2013, but I didn’t call him to book our e-session until September. We took a day off work because we had to fly him up to NYC to do our pics – and he does weddings on the weekend. We took the pics the first week of November.

Oops, I misread the question before I voted too. We booked our photographer in January, scheduled our engagement photos in July and had the actual shoot on a Friday in October.

We booked our photographer in September of 2013 and we actually took engagement photos the same month on a week day.

We booked our photographer in October, but waited to schedule e-session since we’re not using them for Save-The-Date Cards. I think I contacted him right after the holidays to schedule us for end of February. We’re doing ours on a Saturday morning, but we’d probably have to do them during the week if our date fell during busy wedding season.
