I never planned to have an elaborate wedding, but our income was significantly hurt, so now we're thinking courthouse/intimate beach wedding and a cookout reception at home. I gave up on having my dream reception site, but I don't mind at all, as long as we get married. :)
We've been together for a long time and we've had a long engagement. Everything is going pretty much as I expected, although we are doing some DIY stuff to save some cash.
The ecomomy only had an effect on our guests, not the actual wedding. The Irish economy was hit REALLY hard and a lot of my cousins couldn't make it over here b/c of it.

My fiance' and I have had an EXTREMELY long engagement (5 years and counting to be exact!) and throughout the years, our wedding plans have changed...mostly due to the economy.
We're now orchestrating an entierly different wedding than we planned on years ago because of our budget.
