i also love how clever, but obvious, the baby bump hiding is. and the goat. and lily. ok, i love a lot of things about this show!
Mrs. Bee sent me the first season and Mr. Peng and I have watched every other season since! We love it! Many have observed this, but we dont get why Bob Saget does Ted's "grownup voice". Uh... Ted is already a grownup, he should sound the same in 20 years.
Anyhoo... copout answer, but Barney is def. my fave. I also love Marshall jokes. Marshall reminds me of the kind of dudes I hang out with!

I think I may be the only person who hasn't seen this show yet. It's next on my list!
We just started watching 30 Rock & I am HOOKED! We went through 21 episodes in like a day and a half or something. Yeah, LAME.
HIMYM is next!
love love love love. My favorite episode still is "Slap Bet." Not only is the Slap Bet great (I believe we're still waiting for slaps #4 and #5?), but also it's the epi with Robin's "Let's Go to the Mall" video :)
@candycorn they are started doing the last couple epis of the season with Robin too... the were hiding it with the flowy shirts at first, but it must have started to get more obvious.
I think my favorite scene ever is from the episode "Intervention" where Marshall is explaining to Ted why it's his fault there is a hole by the door. Cut to a few months ago: Robin is drunk and acting "super Canadian." She's dressed in full hockey gear and she shoots a puck at the door. Lily intercepts it and yells at her, and they start fighting. Ted breaks it up. Barney yells out, "Ted! NEVER break up a girl fight!" And he punches a hole in the wall and then walks out the door.
Hahaha... that episode was pretty funny... it was definitely rooted in truth! Mr. Peng's family "au gratins" everything during the holidays (much like Marshall's family put mayo in everything) and they are all giants! Mr. Peng is the runt of his family, at 6 ft tall! His sis is as tall as him, and his dad 6'2", and his bro 6'4"! I feel like a munchkin!
Love this show!!!
And yes the baby bums on both the girls were covered up SOO extra badly. It almost felt on purpose.

I am such a HIMYM fan and I can relate anything to the show. Literally, anything. FI used to think it was crazy but now he does it. I've gotten so many people turned on to this show lol.
I love unemployed Robin in the last season. The first season she didn't rub me the right way but now I love her.
FI and I have a very similar relationship as Lily and Marshall, which I love.
Favorite episode (this is tough) is either Slap Bet or the Swarley episode (Crazy eyes lol)
Ahhhhh I LOVE this show!! We have the first 3 seasons and I can't wait for the fourth to come out so I can catch the eps I missed earlier this year.

P.S. I think one of my faaaave episodes is "Arrivederci Fiero" where the Fiero dies and you find out about how they all got close through that car. "My spectacles!!!"
i love barney and marshall. i have a little bit of a crush on marshall because he seems like a sweet and smart guy irl!

This is one of my favorite shows!! I think Barney has to be my favorite character. It hink my favorite episode is the one where they show all the interventions--for Robin's spray tan and Lily's fake British accent. Great stuff.
I also noticed on a recent episode that Ted's ring tone is "Let's Go to the Mall".

HIMYM is my favorite show! I don't think I can pick a favorite episode but Slap Bet is probably one of my faves!
mouse- I also love the intervention episode! my FI introduced me to the show and I totally heart How I Met your Mother! Such great writing and acting!
OMG me and the FI love it so much! we loved our Monday lineups! HIMYM is amazing! we both get a kick out of the way they bring out the 'canadian' in Robin (being Canadian) we laugh everytime cause were like....WHAT?! hahaha
did you catch one of the last episodes (not going to spoil anything), where ted is talking to someone in the hallway of his building, and his cell rings, and it's the "let's go to the mall" ringtone? no mention is made of it... I love the writers' attention to detail.
I LOVE this show and I only just discovered it this year! I love how they're about my age and they act like my friends and I do. I watch it and am like, "They're like us!" My all-time favorite episode so far is the Murtaugh List. And the Woo Girls is a runner-up.
I frickin love this show!! I started watching it because of Jason Segel. I think he's really funny in his movies. I love the idea of a slap bet and how it's playing out. The song that Marshall sung after he slapped Barney in the face at Thanksgiving was hilarious. I fell in love with the name Swarley after laughing so many times during that episode. After we're married, I'm buying a dog and calling him Swarley. It's decided. Of course, his full name will be Swarles Barkley. Tehe..
@BexSH: Yes, I caught that, but only on my second viewing. (Yes, I save HIMYM on my DVR for repeated viewings!) Cracked me up! I love how he and Robin are totally parts of each others' lives now without being "together."
OMG, Weebs, I forgot about Swarley! When that episode aired, my husband had an intern in his office named Barney, so he started referring to him at home as "Swarley". Now every intern he has, he calls him/her by a variation (Swarlita, Swarlos, etc). (Of course this is only when he talks about the intern at home--not to his/her face).
I also love the running joke of Robin's Canadian heritage. "You mean you guys don't have Danbys? Where do you go for grizzly paw ice cream sandwiches?"
Love this show, although I haven't been consistent with it so I feel like I've missed some stuff, so glad it comes on lifetime now...
omg. i love this show. so. freaking. much! i have "let's go to the mall" as my ringtone!!!! (ted has it as his ringtone in the more recent epsiodes too!) :) I love the one where they go looking for the burger..made me so hungry :)

My husband bought me the first season for Christmas and we're both hooked. Slap Bet is by far our favorite episode...b/c it's the gift that just keeps on giving!

Obviously it's the best show on TV. A friend even lent me his copy of the Bro Code. Hi-larious.
I think my fav moment ever was in the Slapsgiving episode when Marshal starts singing the "song he prepared for this occasion" and Barney does some riffs in the background. But it's hard to choose a best moment b/c every episode makes me die.
I heart NPH.
Bahh hahah! Now I have a hilarious image of Pengy going to Christmas at Mr. Peng's house and it being just like Marshal and Lilly.
Careful when they get to playing hockey Peng, those boys fight hard (but that's from a different episode).
@BexSH -- they are amazing at doing stuff like that. Like Monday's episode (rerun) where Marshall and his brothers are shown fighting and they play Murder Train... the song James van der Beek's band plays in season 3. They play that whenever there is a fight lol it cracks me up each and every time.
Just had to say that last night's episode was beyond hilarious. I loved those musical montages that Marshall put together! Also, I was cracking up when Lily said "YOU'RE a sturdy, cheese-bearing cracker!" When I can't think of a comeback, I say that the person is whatever they just said, just like that. ;)

Anyone else heart this show as much as I do? I think it's really funny, and it's interesting the way it plays with time and sequence. What's your fave thing about it? (OK, I also love NPH as Barney--I admit it!)
