Dinner, dances, cake cutting..that’s how we’re doing it.

Depends on the length of time between ceremony and reception.  I am going with ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, cutting cake, dancing dancing dancing.  I will have a cocktail hour between the ceremony and the reception, but I don’t want my people going hungry (or getting a little too dizzy on drinks) so I will be filling their bellies first thing!

I was Maid/Matron of Honor in my friend’s wedding. It started at 10am with hair and makeup. Then drove to the church, had the ceremony and ecofetti send off right after.

Then we drove alllllll the way to the other side of town for…like 3 hours of pictures. Drove back to freshen up before the reception. We caught about 15 mins of cocktail hour. I was starved because I was so concerned with the bride having lunch that I didn’t get to.

We were announced at the reception and they had the cake on the dance floor and cut it as a couple right away.

Then we did the best man and maid of honor toasts followed by dinner. After dinner, they shared their first dance and incorporated that with the parents dances to keep it short.

They openend the floor and it had to have been at least another hour before they did the garter and bouquette tosses.

I know some receptions start with the couple’s first dance before dinner even begins but I’d be starving.
