It took me 3 weeks to get it back - did it in january! Yours may be slowed down by the impending government shutdown.
Mine took 2 weeks, but I paid for it to be expedited. The fact that you are changing your name (versus getting a new passport) does not make a difference in processing times. Just be aware that if the government shuts down next week there will be a significant delay in getting it back (maybe add an extra week).

Yea I figure if the shut down happens it'll definitely be delayed due to that.
I'm not going anywhere anytime soon so no rush.

I know what the application processing times are. Just wondering if it's faster or not just for the name change.
It's been 3 weeks since I sent it in and 2 weeks since my check was cashed. ;)
When I became naturalized it only took 2 weeks for me to get my passport even though processing time was 4-6 weeks.
