My Fiance and I would like to start a family almost right away after we get married, so I was wondering what were some of your experiences. Do you wish you’d have waited a little longer or do you think you waited too long?

We planned to wait a year or more, but Darling Husband grew impatient so we pulled the goalie after nine months. I’d have been ok with waiting a bit longer, but then we wouldn’t be having *this* baby (who is due in less than three weeks!) 🙂

By the time we got married, we had been together for about 8 years or so, and we had lived together for much of that. As such, it didn’t make much sense to us to “enjoy married life” before TTC. We waited a few months to get me up to date on all my vaccines and checkups, and then we TTC.

My hubby and I wanted to travel a bit before TTC. We got to go to a ton of fun places – Spain, Italy, Nicaragua, Hawaii, NYC, Miami in the 2.5 years we’ve been married. It was fun to do those things and not miss anyone at home. I wish we wold’ve started trying a little sooner, but not much because those trips were beyond amazing. Now I need a trip to get over the stress of TTC. 😉

We’ve been married for coming up on 3 years now and it will be a little over a year still before we start TTC. So we’ll be at 4+ years.
