HUbby and I had a talk and decided that about 2 years of marriage was an ok time for us to get pregnant. We wanted to have some time to ourselves, but we were both 29 on the Wedding Day, so no too much time. When I was younger I always said kids after 25, but with people marrying older, that doesn’t always seem practical.
Anyway, we were married for a year and 8 months when we got pregnant. So, pretty much perect timing, right? lol We weren’t charting, or anything…..just not preventing anything from happening.
What’s your story? What time frame did you have for having a baby/getting pregnant? When did it actually happen? How old were/are you?

We planned on starting to try as soon as we were married, we’ve owned a home and lived together for a few years already and saw no point in waiting. We also had no clue how long we’d need to try before being successful so we figured why not, some people try for a year or two and then need to seek fertility treatments too and DH is 29 already (we wanted our first around 30 or so).
I got pregnant 2 weeks after our wedding haha! Even though we were trying I was totally shocked it happened so fast- and so were all of our family and friends! I’m just past 19 weeks now and super happy with our timing 🙂 can’t wait to meet our little one! So here I am with a baby belly working on our thank you cards for the wedding, seems funny to me.

We got our BFP 1 day before our second anniversary! But we started TTC 5 months before that. I was 26 when we got married and my husband was 28 (Now 29 and 31). We knew that we wanted to wait a little while after getting married, but the main thing was that we wanted to take one last big trip. So we did a 1.5 week trip to Hawaii last May and started trying right after that. Honestly before I met my husband I didn’t really even think about kids, so I never had a timeframe for when I wanted to get pregnant. But it just seemed natural after we met!

@PrncssDva: You are very lucky my dear. We got married and decided to try right away. We have a house and have lived together for 4.5 years. We are currently in our 7th cycle trying with our 8th beginning tomorrow or Saturday.

A month after we got married, DH and I decided to stop preventing. 2 1/2 weeks later, I had my positive pregnancy test, so we were officially pregs just 1 1/2 months after the wedding. It was a bit of a shock that it happened so quickly, but a good surprise nevertheless!
We’re both 32, but will both be 33 when baby arrives.

I was 36 when I got married… and have PCOS so didn’t know if I even could have children. I wanted them though… so we didn’t NOT try. The first month I tracked O, we conceived… 7 months after marriage. I’m 13 weeks pregnant now. So much for a tropical trip for our anniversary.. but it’s worth it:)

Ehh…negative 6 months or so. We started TTC in July, got engaged in August, bought my dress in Sept, conceived in October, and married in January. I was 14 weeks pregnant on my wedding day. Luckily, I know a great alterations guy who was able to save my dress.

We started trying 3 1/2 months after we were married and were pregnant 2 1/2 weeks later. He is 27 and I am 25.
Very soon to some people, but a common life dream we shared was to be parents. 18w3d today and we are elated!
Everyone’s timing is different!

@RoyalLime: I am sorry that you are going through all of this. Believe me, whenever it happens it’ll be the PERFECT timing!

We planned to start trying after our first anniversary, but we ended up deciding to start a little earlier than that, and we conceived after ten months of marriage. When baby arrives, I’ll just be turning 30 and DH will be 31.

I am so not the norm so far, but DH and I were 23 when we got married, and we started TTC “officially” 5 months after our wedding. The original “plan” was to wait until we had been married at least a year, but I was having such bad side effects from birth control that I just decided to stop taking it. I started charting and planned on preventing until our original TTC date, but I got so baby crazy and DH is also very baby crazy that we just decided to go for it, what’s a difference of a few months anyways. After 1 cycle of NTNP and 2 of TTC, we got our BFP. I am still really early and not out of the woods yet as far as possible complications, but if all goes well, DH and I will both be 24 when baby arrives in September.

We abandoned all methods on our honeymoon. We were married in June 2012 and I got my BFP around September 10th. I am 34 and it took my mom 9 years to get pregnant with me… so I was concerned that it was going to take me forever to get pregnant.
Not so much!!! I’m due in May 🙂

We tried right after the wedding. It took us eight cycles to finally get pregnant. So 8 months into our marriage we are pregnant and elated!
