A couple of months maybe? Time for me to find a OB I liked and get comfortable with the city.

I don’t think that moving to a new city would be a reason to wait at all. If you’re ready, then I would say go for it. You have nine months of pregnancy to settle in, which is a long while.

    Why wait at all?

I don’t think living in a new city is a real reason to wait to TTC at all.

Whenever the hell I wanted to. What’s the point in waiting?

@walnutgirl:  No, not necessarily. I can meet people while pregnant, it’s almost a whole year from the time you conceive until the baby is born. And most people don’t get KU on the first try anyway.

Also, I would want to make sure that I was making friends with people who wouldn’t write me off for getting pregnant or having a baby.

I moved while 8.5 months pregnant! So I wouldn’t hold off on TTC just because you’re new to the area.

No.  Not really, I can still explore for the 9 months I’m pregnant.  And what better way to bond with some new ppl than as new mommies.

@walnutgirl:  Wouldn’t matter at all to me – I wouldn’t feel the need to wait at all.  If you’re ready, what does living in a new city have to do with it? (FWIW, DH and I will likely be TTC immediately after we move cross-country)

@walnutgirl:  i’m on cycle 4 of TTC, so i definately would start right away, who knows how long it would take.

also, i would have no problem getting to know the city and meeting new people being pregnant.  why would being pregnant stop me from doing those things?

We moved to a new city a few months after we got married. At the same time, I got off BCP. We furnished our new home, explored the new city, and put aside money in our savings account. So we’re at month 8 of being in this new city and we think this is a great time to get pregnant.
