1 - 2 weeks. Just send the ones you have finished now and continue working your way through them.
@LGenz: I agree, don't sweat it! Just give yourself a few more days to finish it. Sometimes you just have to make yourself sit down and do it.
I do just need to make myself sit down and do it...especially since the majority of the vote is one week! I feel awful! I get home super late tomorrow but I'm having them out by Wednesday. I have to! Thank you ladies!
I've had 3 showers and range from 1-4 weeks. Need to get on those for my last shower!!!
In the thank you cards for the shower, do I sign just my name? Or my name and FI's name?
I did 1/2 after I got home that night, and the other 1/2 the following day.
@Evie19: I just signed my name, unless they gave me a card that was to both of us. When addressing the card, I took my cue to how the guest signed their names.
I figure that the shower was held in my honour, so the cards should have my name.
@ArwenBride: Thanks. Thats what I thought too, but I read (on the knot I think?) that it should be signed by both because the gifts are essentially for both of us as a couple?
It took me forever for some reason. I finished in like 5 weeks, i think. I received thank you notes from showers I attended in the meantime before I got mine out...whoops!
PS Hi date twin! :)
It took me several weeks, for personal reasons that seemed to make sense at the time. But eventually I did feel awful about taking so long.
Under normal circumstances, I would have wanted to get them out within two or three weeks. I wrote and sent the majority of our wedding thank-you notes within three weeks of the wedding.
I always make myself do thank you notes the day after events. So therefore, I did them the day after my shower so I could get them over with. People REALLY appreciate it when you send them one right away, I had several people say how nice it was that I did it immediatly.
@KateByDesign: I just ordered my thank you cards, and you just inspired me to fill in my calender 2 days after the shower: "Write and Send Thank You Cards!" :)
I'm going to have 90 to write...yikes!
I think I sent them 1 week later. My shower was sort of early and I wanted to get the thank you's out before I sent the wedding invitations. I knew once the invites went out, I'd be dealing with RSVPs and actual wedding gifts, so I just wanted to get all the shower-related stuff over and done with first.
I feel very bad, but my office threw me a bridal shower four days before the wedding and so far I've only sent thank you cards to the two ladies who planned and hosted and sent a nice email to everyone who attended. These were done the next day.
Since then, we've been busy with the wedding, then moving, and now four weeks later we are finally in a place to finish the cards. Do you think it's too late? Is too late better than never? It feels a little silly to be sending thank you cards after we've already been married a month and I've been back to normal work for a while...
Thanks for the info ladies, my wedding shower is next month, and it's good to have this information...1 week sounds good to me!

I'm just wondering what the general timeline is. I'm starting to feel awful because it's been 3 1/2 weeks and I haven't quite finished writing them all yet!
