About 1 month, I think? That’s what I’ve noticed. I’d like to know how your A&B thing works out because I’m interested in doing the same thing. My weddding is July 27th, when’s your’s?

I’m confused, are you asking when to send the invitation or when to set the RSVP date?

Send out the invites 6-8 weeks before (go with 8 weeks since you didn’t do a STD.

The RSVP date should be 1 week before your your F&B deadline. That way you have time to chase people down who don’t send in the cards. I had to tell the restaurant 2 weeks before, so my deadline was 3 weeks before.

Opps, I just noticed that you have a b-list. Then I would set the RSVP date for 5 weeks before to give you 1 week to chase people down. Then send out your B-list and set the deadline for a few days before your F&B deadline.

Talk to your venue/caterers.  Mine requested the info 1 month before (at least a ball park number).  So I made my deadline a month before and they were ok with me sending my ballpark number a few days after.

@SunshineLovin:  woo hoo! Yea, give it 1 month. As a matter of fact, I was just having lunch with my friend whose wedding is March 23rd. Her RSVP is Feb 24 and she mentioned she has a B list.

We did a little over 3 weeks. This way you have time to call and get responses from the people who didn’t bother to send it in.

@SunshineLovin:  F&B- Food and Beverage. Some people have venues others caters so I wanted to use a generic term.

I’m doing 6 weeks because I have to give numbers a month before and I know we will have to track people down (FHs fam is full of procrastinators and he is one himself, so I’m building in two weeks for him to track people down instead of one)

I am also sending my invites 3 months in advance. We didnt do save the dates and I have the invitations already so I figure no reason not to send them early instead of just having them sit here and take up space.(we might invite a few people after too, if we get more no’s, but we dont have a full on B list)

My RSVP deadline was exactly 4 weeks. That gives me enough time to track down all the people who failed to send one back. >__>

I have set mine as May 30 – so 3 weeks before the wedding date. I’m mailing out invites 7 or 8 weeks before the wedding.

I was wondering the same thing! Our wedding is June 29,2013. I was wanting to ask for the RSVPs back by May 25th. Is that too early? Our wedding is out of town for almost all of our guests (I hour). Our event details are due 4 weeks before. The contract says 5 days before they need a final count. We can increase the number til 3 days before but we can’t reduce it.

My RSVP date is 5 weeks before our wedding date – this is to allow for B list invites.

I didn’t bother with STD’s, but since we have a lot of out of town guests, we’re sending our invites out beginning of March which would be 3 months till June 8th. Then my RSVP date is going to be mid or end of April (6-8 weeks). That will give us a bit of time to invite others if we have too many declines.

As you get no’s you could always start sending out your B list invites, in order of importance or something. Thats what I have to do! I can only have 65 people at my venue, so thats pretty much JUST family, if any of them tell me they cant go I am going to start sending out invites to friends/friends of family.
