How long did it take for your cycles to regulate after coming off the pill?
My first cycle off the pill was 40 days and I got a positive OPK on cd30. I thought that was reasonable considering I had been on the pill for almost 10 years. Now I’m on cd52 with bfn’s, and I don’t think I’ve ovulated either. Yesterday afternoon my opk was too close to tell if it was positive or negative. Then I took another in the evening and it was definitely negative. Anyway, now I’m getting scared that I’m never going to regulate.
Did anyone else go through this, and then finally start getting regular cycles? If so, how long did it take?

This is my second cyle off of BCP – 1st was 45 days. Currently on CD15 – not sure how long it is going to be. It is very frustrating. Just try to hang in there. From what I understand, everyone is different and there is no way to control it. I was on BCP for 9 years.

I think everyone is different. I got off BCP’s after 10 years in January and got my first period off the pill 29 days later. Since then, my cycles have been a little more eratic, averaging 32 days, but twice, lasting 36. Right now, I’m on my sixth cycle since coming off BCP and I’m on CD 27, having just possibly ovulated yesterday (meaning my cycle will be around 38-39 days). It’s definitely frustrating, but at least I know I’m ovulating, even with the longer-ish cycles.

When I got off the pill it took about 6 months to regulate, well as regular as I could get since my periods have never been regular hence why I got on the pill. But my periods would be anywhere from 25-35 days. I got pregnant pretty quickly after getting off the pill too.

I am waiting it out as well…This is my third cycle off BCP (I was on them for approx 9 years) My first cycle was 44 days second was 37 days and this cycle I have no idea what I am supposed to expect…I guess it really is just a waiting game for your body to regulate. goodluck!

My first cycle off the pill was 36 days. On day 36 of my second cycle I found out I was pregnant, so I’m going to say that my cycle regulated immediately! I had longer cycles before starting the pill 9 years ago, so I think 36 days is typical.
Were your cycles normal and regular before you started the pill? I’ve heard it tends to go back to how it was beforehand. I’m not sure there’s raelly anything you can do to help regulate it either. Just a waiting game. Good luck.

Mine regulated right away – sort of. Prior to going on the pill 9 years previous I had short 21-22 day cycles. As soon as I stopped the pill (where they were 28 day cycles) I immediately went back to 21-22 days. I lengthened my cycle with B6 and B-Complex though 🙂

I just went off bc in June after being on the pill for 10 years. I am currently on CD 34 and TTC. I am not doing charting, temping or opks so I really have no idea if I’m even ovulating. It is very frustrating!

My first cycle was a mess. I never got my period from when I went off birth control on April 7th until May 9th. Then I got pregnant in May!

I am getting nervous about this currently… I stopped taking birth control in early February…. since my period in March, I’ve had cycles of 32, 32, and 28 days… now on day 33 with absolutely no sign of AF. It seemed like it had gone back to being regular almost immediately but now I feel like it is late. I know 1 day is not really late, haha… but of course now I’m wondering if I could be pregnant and if I should take a pregnancy test. I’m also worried about if my cycle will ever get regular, and want to follow this thread to see if there are any more responses.
