We waited about 5 months and ours was already started when we bought it. The basement was poured and the framing was up. And ours was cookie cutter! I can't imagine what they could possibly build in 60 days. Seems a little fast.
@cherrycoke: My DH and I just met with a builder two weeks ago. For a custom home, he said that it would take 4-6 months from contract to moving day.
The actual building process for our home which was custom, was a few days shy of 120. However we built in a time when no one was building in our area so alot of time from the various contractors was dedicated to our home alone. The entire time frame including loan process, land surveys, design meetings etc felt like forever but we started March 29 and moved in November 6.
We bought with a major builder in a "cookie-cutter" subdivision, we signed our documents in June and broke ground in mid August and we moved in December 27.

Hubby and I have been looking into building a house and I was just curious how long it took your home to be built. We have heard anywhere from 60-120 days so far. The 60 days are most likely for the "cookie cutter" style homes and the 120 is more custom, but not exactly "built from scratch".
