It is VERY time consuming, but so worthwhile. I created a 36 page album for our parents for the holidays and I probably spent at least 10-12 hours on it.
VERY time consuming... probably 20 hours or so, here and there. But, I'm a little anal...
Yes...it is fun- but I just want to hurry up and have the finished product in my hand!
Ok, an update...like anyone cares...but! I'm on page 40 of my 50 page album so far and I still have the formals of me and my husband, and the reception photos to put in. OMG
Does anyone know if I could just copy the complete layout that I have so far for my 50 page album, and copy it to the 75 album on Adoramapix?
Now I think I'm being excessive in the amount of photos I have ...lol. This is so hard!
Yikes! Seems like you need to go back and choose your absolute favorites (ie If I could only see X amount of photos EVER, which ones should I choose?). Don't know if that helps at all. Can't wait to see your link to your album when you're finished. Happy New Year!
But, but....:(
If I have so many photos, and if I only show a bit of them...what is the point of having the other photographs!
I don't think it looks messy or crowded. I guess I'll do what I want for now, and show it to you all. And if you think it's too much, I'll edit. But I mean, the whole point of an album is to see photos, I don't see why there can only be like 30 pages or so...the more the better, no???
If it makes you feel better, I did over 150 pages of spreads on a Photobook America album (the Pro series is to die for. THe materials are soooo high quality, it's amazing). I did a lot of full bleeds/multi-page bleeds, though, which really upped the page count.
@luli29: The point of all the other photos is to have the best of the best to choose from :-). If you don't want to be so limited space-wise, i'd really recommend going with a different company/format. I did an AdoramaPix book for our honeymoon photos, and the cover/quality reminded me of those children's books that have stiff pop-up pages.
@crayfish: I cannot do all of this over...it's too much!!! lol
Was the cover the only thing that bothered you? If so, I should keep going with this. I just heard so many good things about Adoramapix!
The AdoramaPix album looks about 10x cheaper than my Photobook America book (and it was about $100 for the Adorama album b/cof size, the Photobook album was around $285 with a discount). It just does. My Photobook America album is covered in Japnese Silk with a debossed text on it in a matching silk slipcase. The paper is super luxe. It's a fabulous large size. It just makes the AdoramaPix album look like what it was intended to be - a budget photobook. And this is from someone who loves Adorama (I'm a hardcore amateur photographer). The Adorama album just didn't do it for me.

Gahhhh...making an album is so time consuming. I want it to look perfect, so I can't help but be critical.
I'm using Adoramapix, and have completed a bit less than half of the album so far. I know once I get to the end though, I'll still go back and change things.
For those of you who put together your own album...how long did the friggin' project take?
