How long did it take your stylist to do you hair and makeup? My stylist is coming to my house and doing my hair & makeup, as well as my mom’s. I offered my cousin and aunt to come get ready with the stylist too (hair & makeup) but now I’m worried we won’t have enough time and maybe I should tell aunt and cousin to ge somewhere else. Wedding starts at 4:30 so need to be all ready at 3:30 aprox. Stylist is coming at either 8 or 9am. Is this enough time for 4 ladies to get hair and makeup done?

that should be enough time– how long is the hair for most girls?? i would have the person with the longest hair or the most intrique hair design go first- my girls got their hair done in 2 hours at a salon the lady who did mine did it 2.5 hours. we did our own make up

My hair and makeup were done at the same time, and it took just under two hours–and I didn’t have an intricate up-do. Just make sure that the stylists start on you by around 12. You don’t want them rushing your hair and makeup because someone else’s took too long.

@somerrae: I feel like my hairstyle (above) shouldn’t be too hard to style. My aunt will probably get a blowdry since she has short hair, and my mom a simple updo. My cousin is my biggest worry cause she has really curly long hair, maybe she can straighten it in advance, and then get her updo, Im gonna have to ask the stylist if we’ll have enough time!

@Imean: yeah, definitely have everyone (including you) arrive at the appointment with washed, dried, straightened hair. I’m actually not straightening my hair for my wedding, but I’ll be coming with it fully prepped. (for me, thats clean, dry, detangled and moisturized).

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
For the bride figure 2:30 (total) for hair and make-up. For each additional person, figure 45 minutes per service (so 1:30 total).

@Imean: It took my stylist about an hour or so to do my hair. My sister got her’s done at the same time, by a different person, and it was around the same. We did our own makeup, so I can’t comment there. It seems like enough time though. I wouldn’t go first, because it gives you more opportunity to mess it up, but I wouldn’t be last either. Just watch the time, and someone might have to get a more simple style to accommadate.

Mine took about 2.5 hours total. That was with an intricate up do with very long hair and make up. However, she didn’t curl all of my hair so that significantly cut down on the time.
