Hi all! I went wedding dress shopping Saturday and i feel like its going to take months before i find the dress. How long did it take you to find your dress? I have 3 more appointments coming up and i hope i can find the dress during those appointments. I am enjoying the wedding dress shopping but hopping to start payments in june for my paying my dress. thank you.

It took me well over 8 weeks but that’s because I really took my time searching… I tried on at least 50 dresses and had 8 appointments at 5 different salons. I found my dress on the 6th appointment but went to another salon before going back to try on more dresses and buy my dress from that salon.

It took me almost 4 months before I put a deposit on a dress. I didn’t rush because I had a lot of time and I lived out of town from my parents.

I started looking for dresses in August and came across the one I would end up purchasing. I didn’t try it on until December, and ordered/paid for it in January

@isabelle_86: yeah it is such a big commitment! I had so much fun shopping that I wasn’t ready to stop. I don’t have dress regret but I do really miss going shopping. Now I just have to focus on accessories lol. Make sure you take pictures if possible! It really helped me make my decision. I fell in love with one dress but then looking at the pictures realized it wasn’t that flattering… The dress I ended up getting was a contender so I took pictures and then really fell in love looking back at it. 🙂

I didn’t vote because it took me over three months and 121(ish) dresses before I found the right one. It was really difficult but when I found the right one it did feel different. I didn’t have that “crying” moment but I did feel something in me kick in.

I didn’t have a lot of time. Fiance proposed in April and we moved 8 hours away from home less than two months later. I really wanted to have my dress by then because I wanted to be able to dress shop with my mom and I wasn’t sure when I would be home again. I had three appointments in the span of about a month and found mine at the second one! I still went to the third one but my mind kept wandering back to “that” dresss.

About a week. I went to 2 shops and tried on about 15 dresses

My engagement was only 6.5 months, so I had to choose one on my first day out looking.

1 day. 1 appointment. First dress I tried on. Tried about 5 others on the day but went back to the first.

Well, I went to my first appointment in the beginning of July. Bought my dress at the end of January. But I also took several breaks from it, and didn’t want to rush anything. And I had trouble finding anything that checked all the boxes in the beginning, so I was glad I could wait a bit.
If you want to find it quickly, though, I know it is possible!

It took me just about the entire month of December (maybe just a smidgen longer, so I voted 5 weeks) to find my dress. In fact, I tried it on and then waited two weeks to be sure it was the one for me.

I’ve tried on so many dresses, I’ve been out to shop about 5 or 6 times. I think I’ve found the dress but haven’t put any money down yet. I’m second guessing what I’ve picked and am currently scanning websites to see if there is anything I like more… this is so hard!!!!

@isabelle_86: about two hours. I found my dress on my first trip to my first bridal shop and it was probably the seventh dress I tried on. I knew right away it was the one and was surprised that it happened so quickly 🙂
