@newbabybee:  My husband and I were seriously blessed by Jesus. We decided to TTC while he was on deployment. He came home in early June 3rd and June 26th I had a BFP. I was floored because I had read it would take at least six months for a healthy woman to concieve. Baby Sailor is currently 17 happy weeks along

2nd cycle, but that’s not an option.

It doesn’t take a healthy couple at least 6 months…   But it can take a healthy couple anywhere up to one year, is what my doctor told me.

newbabybee:  I’m glad you didn’t put “7-12 months – finally” or something, because apparently taking up to a year is not a case of “finally” but still within normal parameters.

It’s sad how so many of us put so much pressure on ourselves expecting to conceive right away and being devastated it it takes more than a couple of months. I’m not saying I’m not guilty of it 😉 It took me 8 months and I was starting to get nervous – but apparently for no reason at all.

There isn’t an option that fits my situation (the poll jumps from one month to three to six months). We got pregnant our second month of trying.

Would be interesting to see the other factors in the poll. Such as age, frequency of intercourse, and how long you have been off birth control or how long you were on it.

Our first only took 2 cycles when I was 20 “trrying” frequently and wasn’t one any birth control ever. This time I’m nearly 24, it has been 5 cycles, been off birth control 7 cycles and still not regular, was on birth control nearly 3 years, and only “trying” once or twice a week.

2nd, so I put 1 since 2nd wasn’t an option. We actually we’re exactly trying, but we knew it was a very serious risk.

We got our first BFP our 10th cycle (after 8 months of charting and OPKs), but lost the pregnancy. We got our second BFP 3 months later, in Cycle 13 (I refuse to start counting the cycles over again). The second resulted in a very healthy baby boy last month.

I voted 2-6 months, I’m going to say it took us 4 months – of actual trying. Prior to that we were NTNT for 2 months but not very seriously so I don’t really count that.

It took us 8 months to get pregnant the first time, but miscarried. Then it took another 5 months, miscarried again. Finally, after 18 months from when we first started trying, I was pregnant again. I’m due next week, and we couldn’t be more excited!

The TTC process can be tough…especially when you can’t tell initially if anything is wrong. Just try to stay positive, be in tune with yourself and most of all, have fun with the trying part :o)
