    Statistically, about 85% of couples get pregnant within 1 year of trying.  I would expect that your poll will be slightly skewed because there are a lot of couples TTC but that haven’t got pregnant yet.  There is no response that they can select in the poll.

    Either way, it will be interesting to see what the trend on WB is.

    I think a lot of it is dependant on age and prior health issues so here is that info:

    Me:28
    Him:38

    Prior health/fertility issues: None

    Went of BC a year prior, pregnant 1st month of trying (my mother was the same way).

    I don’t seem to have a problem getting pregnant, it’s maintaining the pregnancy that is an issue. I got pregnant after 2 months of trying the first time, then miscarried at 6 weeks (although I didn’t find out till 12). Right after my doctor said it was ok to try again we did, and got pregnant that month. I’m 29 weeks pregnant today, and I still freak out all the time that something will happen again.

    It took us about 3 months, but that was two cycles. My first cycle off BC lasted almost 7 weeks. Tell me that wasn’t frustrating- I had a ton of pregnancy symptoms and period was nearly 3 weeks late and nothing. My next cycle I refused to test after dealing with the insanity of the first, plus I had no symptoms. After I hit the 7 week mark again I tested and it was positive.

    Oh, and for a background, I am 27 and he is 33. We both had some minor issues so I was pretty worried. I had a LEEP procedure done 5 years ago as well as wildly irregular cycles. He had untreated lyme disease as a kid and evidently there was always a possibility of sterility.

    @panterapeach:

    5th cycle as well! 🙂

    I’m currently in the TWW of 5th cycle. Fingers crossed.

    I just turned 29 and my husband is 32.

    And no pre-existing conditions that we know of.

    Thanks for the TTC options…I like to get to vote!  I’m on Month 8 of TTC.  I went off BC immediately prior, so 8 months ago and I’m seeing signs that my cycle is getting more and more normal, but it has taken awhile.  Finger’s crossed.

    ETA: I’m 30, he’s 41.  Both healthy, no known issues…

    We were extremely lucky and conceived on our 3rd month trying.  I’m 34, he’s 42.

    We had been casually NTNT for a few months, but got pregnant our 2 month of actively really hardcore trying.

    @cyndistar3: LOL that reminds me of mean girls… “Don’t have sex! If you have sex, you WILL get pregnant and DIE!”
