I was filling them out on the plane ride to our honeymoon. No use not using that down time to get it done.

I thought the etiquette stated we had 2 months!  My mom was appalled that I didn’t have them out the next day, I swear.  She’s been ridiculous asking me every day and pressuring me.  Anyway, I sent the majority of them out between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, 5-10 at a time.  I still have 5 or 6 to go and just have to bite the bullet and do them!  I sent them to older guests (parent’s friends) first, then family, then our friends.

@MrsDrRose612:  Don’t you just love her harrassment encouragment?  😛

ETA: Just start them this weekend, 5 at a time!  I wrote mine out on the computer first then copied them into the cards in pen.  Also, you can say similar things to the people who gave you cash/cheques, so those ones tend to go a bit quicker.

I did mine on the plane ride home from our honeymoon and had them out within 2 weeks of the wedding.  I’d also been writing them as gifts arrived, so it was just for the gifts/cards we got at the actual wedding (still like 100..my hand hurts thinking about it).  I figured if I didn’t do them on the plane, I’d very easily never get them done.

My wedding was 10 days ago.  I was thrown a bridal shower 11 days ago.

All of the thank you notes for the shower are finished, the only wedding gift thank yous that are outstanding are ones to DH’s immediate family – we agreed that he shoud write those. (Our handwriting is VERY different.  They’ll appriciate knowing it was him wielding the pen!)  He’ll be at the table working on those as I cook dinner tonight.  I’ve already told him that I won’t feed him until they are done!!

If it takes more than 2 months for me to get a thank you note, I assume it’s not coming.  Anything after 3 months, and (to me) it’s a reminder that the person wasn’t very timely – but it’s certainly still appreciated.  Beyond 6 months?  I might think ill of the sender… Yes, better late than never, but it doesn’t seem sincere or appreciative at that point; it’s clear that the Thank You was viewed as a chore.

Get your notes out, you’re still in the “I’m glad she liked it… maybe life was really busy, and that’s why she was slow” window.

I sent them out 2 days after.  Wedding on Saturday, and notes in the mail on Monday afternoon.  People started getting them the Tuesday.

I did 5 of them before the wedding, for gifts I received more than 2 weeks before the Big Day.

I did about 25 of them 2 weeks after the wedding.  They were all of my coworkers, because I felt uncomfortable coming back from my honeymoon without having sent thank you cards.

I did the rest about 5 weeks after the wedding.

We just got married on the 4th and back from our honeymoon and opened gifts this past Saturday. I want to send a photo so people will have to wait a few weeks but I think waiting too Long is embarrassing so as soon as I get some pics to choose from from the photog they will go out
