Yeah, my wedding was Aug 2, and I haven't heard a THING from the photographer -- no pictures, no previews, no phonecalls or emails.
I'm not worried because I know he's a slacker and takes more work than he has time for -- we'll get the pictures eventually, I'm confident. But it's incredibly unprofessional and annoying.
And I'm at fault as well, because I signed a contract with no due date. It covered all his services the day of, and I just didn't even stop to think about beyond that.
I know the couple whose wedding he shot before ours just got their pictures, so we're next on the list. HURRY UP!
We got ours about 4 weeks after the wedding, and that was only "late" because our photographer had a family emergency that took him out of town for a week.
We had our engagement pictures taken in NC by a photographer I did NOT do enough research on. He only provided us with low res proofs online that we could order from (for a RIDICULOUS amount of money). Then it took him nearly 6 weeks to retouch them, print them, and send them. I can't even imagine what it would be like doing a wedding with him. I think you have every right to be upset and voice your disappointments to the photographer. Maybe they'll even throw in a discount somewhere
We got our photos back a little over 3 months after our wedding, but we were expecting this as it was stated in our contract.
Our average delivery time is 6 weeks, although we generally have a few photos up on our blog before that time.
If you're having trouble with delivery, let your photographer know that you're frustrated and eager to see your photos. But also know that processing and preparing proofs is not a quick and easy job, so try to be patient as well.
We got our photos about 5 weeks after the wedding, but were told that many photographers take up to 3 months. Ours was a quicker process because we did a digital only package. Good luck.
Wow! I feel so bad for some of your stories up there. On the plus side I bet a lot of brides are learning what to look for a due by date in their contact, etc.
We got ours about 2-3 weeks after the wedding. our photographer was awesome! www.heatherfunk.com She sent me a few teaser photos right away, and the proof album about 3 weeks after the wedding. And our photos were done on film. I know she does digital too and I bet those are just as fast turn around.
Good luck communicating with your photographer and I hope you have your pics in hand soon.
Our wedding was 2 months ago and we're expecting our online proofs in the next few weeks. Although I am excited and impatient, I realize all of the time that goes into prepping our photos, and I know that we got married at the height of busy wedding season, so we just have to sit back and wait. Depending on how many photos you have and how large the files are, it's not just a matter of the click of a button to upload them for you, so try to keep that in mind! I'm sure you'll see them soon :-)
I got half my photos on DVD before we left (Hawaii - DW). Then the other half of photos on DVD a few weeks later (2 photogs). But they take sooo long to load and view on my laptop so i couldn't do much to choose for the album. We got married n Aug. and just last week got the username and code to access the online gallery to select photos. The photog's site was down for the past couple of months and she warned us that summer was crazy busy and she'd be backed up for longer than normal. I hear from many friends and co-workers 3 months is avg. One friend waited a year. Don't worry too much.
This is ridiculous and what contracts are for. Speak to her about it. Be stern.
We got our online proofing within 10 days of the wedding and got our printed, non-marked proofs in the mail in silk cypress boxes about 5 weeks after the event. We still have not received our high resolution digital negatives or the album yet and our event was September 6.
Wow, I thought ours took long (at least it felt long). We received a link to the almost 1000 of the 3000 photos they took less than three weeks after our wedding. We received ALL of our negatives 3 weeks after our wedding. Yay for Bella!
Sorry it's taking you so long to get your pictures Tivoli. I don't recall seeing anything in your post about the terms in your contract. A good photography contract should state when you can expect to see your wedding pictures. If you have that, that gives you some leverage to ask the photographer for a firm timeline. I hope it works out for you and you get your pictures soon.

Wow, I felt bad for taking 3-4 weeks to post my couple's online gallery, which also includes a slideshow highlighting the day & an album design for their approval. I just got one of my Sep albums in from the bookbinder.
Yes, it takes a lot of work & time to deliver great photos. Since I'm not patient enough to wait months to see any photos. I wouldn't ask my couples to wait that long either. I admit that does mean ocassionally suffering through sleepness nights in order to meet my deadlines.
I feel sorry for your story! I think you should talk to your photographer about this, especially that it was mentioned in the contract.
My photographer (Seize The Day) was very quick and awesome, we were very blessed. He was our best wedding investment and he worth every penny. Our online gallery was up in 4 days (yes... 4 days after the wedding day) when we still had a LOT of mess around the house! About 10 days after, we got all High Res images in a CD. That's pretty fantastic, i would say.
Someone should really feel sorry for my new wife and I. We went with a photographer who just does it on the side, and its been over 5 months! My wife does it on the side also, and does an amazing job, very meticulous editing, and it still only (haha) takes her 3 months to get the fully edited package back, book printed and everything. Usually her clients are pretty anxious by about 8-10 weeks, but she is good at giving status updates and being upfront with people. I've heard the really high end professionals can take up to 6 months to do their magic, but that is for top of the line quality. Our photographer hasn't even given us an update, so I am contacting her today to demand the photos and asking for a discount. 5+ months is ridiculous, according to what I read above. Glad I read this...
Please read the post on Weddingbee Pro about why it takes so long to get photos back. I think Anne Rutheman wrote it.

I am asking this because I am a bit frustrated with our photographer. We got married in early August and on the contract, it said 4 weeks or longer, and I was okay with that. But, after the wedding, she told us 10 weeks. Okay, I thought that was a bit long, but I remained quite patient. Well, 10 weeks later, she still did not have them up, and we had to wait literally an additional month (so 14 weeks total), only to receive a link to the low res pictures, so I call it the preview pictures. Fine. Patience. So, now all that is left is the matter of uploading the high resolution pictures onto the FTP server we set up for her, and she says she needs another week, usually within a month AFTER she uploads the low res. preview ones. I want my pictures already!! Is this ridiculous or what? I am so glad I am not ordering any albums from her, or else it would take even longer....I mean, she already uploaded the low res pictures onto that third party site, how hard is it to take those same set of pictures and upload them to our server??!! Grrrrrrrrrrr....
