Our engagement pictures shoot was only about 40/45 minutes and it will be 3 weeks on Tuesday. My maid of honor is a professional wedding photographer and she said she gets pictures back in a week, 2 tops.  I haven't heard a word from him since that day.

I haven't had mine taken, but every photographer we interviewed said we'd have the proofs back with in a week - two at the outside most.

When did your photographer promise to send you the proofs?  Have you tried to call him?

I haven't called him yet...and he didn't tell us how long. 3 weeks just seems to be pushing it a bit.

My engagement session was about an hour and a half/2 hours, and I was told it would take a month.  I'm crossing my fingers that he'll send me a teaser or 2 soon to tide me over! (Did e-pic on Oct 4)

Wow... an hour and a half/two hours!! Lucky girl! We were only offered 45 minutes...and I'm very nervous.  This photographer is very well known on another website but we are getting nervous about his work.  I have looked at our e-pics that he has done and they are NOTHING like what I remember doing with him. Hopefully they turn out ok because we have already booked him for the wedding and paid $900!

Our photographer posted them online within 2 weeks and we had our disc about 6 weeks after we did them.

My photographer offered to do our engagement pictures for free!  The session was a couple of hours and I got all the pictures on a CD within a week.

We just had our shoot on Tuesday. It was 2 1/2 hours, and he told us 2-3 weeks because it's his crazy time with Sept/Oct weddings. Fine with me since we are in no rush for them. He did offer a few for a fast turn around if we needed them for Save The Dates or anything.

Our shoot was about 2.5 hours, and our photographers said the pictures will be ready in about three weeks (busy season). I'd say try and be patient a little longer and wait for an email response? Good luck!

Uhm.. over 9 weeks? We had about a 2 hour session, and then our photog went MIA for a little bit. The pictures were definitely worth it, it was just a little stressful on this end to have to wait until the middle of September when they were supposed to be in our hands first/second week of August.

<span style="font-weight: normal;">I would say that every photographer has their own timeline and while some people are faster than others, maybe your photographer takes more time making them more beautiful! For me I have to work really efficiently to meet 2 - 3 weeks' turnaround, but in the busiest seasons I warn my brides that the wait time may get up to 4 weeks. I bet your photog just came out of a bunch of September weddings he probably has many other shoots and edits and albums and whatnot in his queue. You could ask your photog for a couple of sneak peeks if he has anything ready, or just send a friendly email and see how it's going, but don't rush what isn't broken =)

Our engagement session was about 2 hours.  Our photographer had some teasers on her blog and Facebook within a few days and we got our disc after 2 weeks.

We had our pics taken last Friday for 1 hr 45 min, which was supposed to be 2 hrs.  Our photographer promised a few pics would be posted on her blog by Monday.  Still no pics, but she told us that she's had to work every single weekend for the past several weeks.  Apparently, wedding "season" is now June-October!  I assume my photographer is super busy with editing/proofing wedding pics, so I'm not worried yet.

If I still don't have teaser pics three weeks later, I think I'd be a little more angry than anxious!

Ok so a little update...actually no update. It's been 3 weeks to the day...not one word from our photographer after 2 emails and NO pictures, not one.  We plan on calling him at the end of the week if we still haven't heard anything :(

I had mine the next day. I would follow up again with him to see what's the hold-up. He should at least respond to you to let you know when you can expect your photos!

That's what I thought!! A simple email saying he's behind or busy...whatever. I feel ignored and not at all pleased. I am kinda nervous to have him as our wedding photographer but we already signed a contract.

If you're concerned about the lag time, I would talk to your photographer. Explain that you don't want to have to wait months after the wedding to get your pictures. In our contract, there was a deadline for delivery of our pictures - 3 weeks after the wedding. See if you can get something in writing. Good luck!
