Before my wedding my photographer said that it would take about one month for her to finalize the photography from my wedding. However, she is recently told me that wedding photography can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months to finish. 3 months? Is that normal? What have your experiences been with waiting for your photography?

We waited a little less than a month, but our photographers were friendors who were just getting started in the business, so they didn’t have any other customers at the time to worry about. From what I’ve heard from others, 3 months is pretty normal.

My wedding was December 31, and I just picked them up on Tuesday….so 6 months.

There isnt really a “normai”, turn around times will vary from photographer to photographer. What does your contract say about turn around times? 1-3 months is pretty realistic. Post production takes a lot of time to complete, and we are in the peak of the wedding season so your photographer is most likely very busy. She most likely has other weddings to edit and shoot, all while working on yours.

Ours were up on the website within the first few days. And we got our DVDs of them in two weeks or so.

Our photographer estimated it would take 4-6 weeks. It’s been about 7 and we still don’t have them, but I know he took thousands and will have close to 2000 in the final gallery, so I’m cutting him some slack. He also posted a 300 picture preview online about 3 weeks after the wedding, so we have seen a lot of them. It’s going to be so overwhelming to look through all of them!
