We already have a venue but have found a much nicer place for a very reasonable price, the only thing is that they say the reception must end at 11pm and we are thinking to start the reception around 6pm… the wedding will be on a sunday so am hoping that this will be enough time but I dont want to be wishing i had stuck with a hall that let me stay later than 11pm
What time did you reception end and how long was it in total?

We started at 5:30 and ended at midnight. I don’t think anybody would have minded if it ended at 11.

Ours started at 6:30 and went to 1:00, it was really hot though and I am sure no one would have noticed if it ended at 11.

We started cocktail hour at 6, dinner was at 6:45 and the reception was scheduled to end at 11. We ended up making our exit around 11:15 and most everyone left after that, but some family and friends didn’t leave/start picking up decor until 11:45.

Our wedding isn’t until October but our reception will start at 7 and end at 11 (cocktail hour from 6-7). We’ll be having an after party so for those who want to keep partying, they can just in a different part of the resort.
Since your wedding is on a Sunday, most people will probably clear out before 11 anyways so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Our cocktail hour started at 6pm and there was a major party going on until we shut down at 1am. Everyone who was left joined us on the dance floor for our last song. It was wonderful.
But it all depends on your crowd – are they the drink and dance all night type?

Does that include the cocktail hour? Our reception will be from 7:30-11:30 – 4 hours long with a cocktail hour from 6-7:30. We will be having an after party at a nearby bar. I think for a Sunday 11pm is a good time to end — if you have a group that likes to party is an after party an option for you?

My reception ended AT 11pm – not an option in your poll. It was 4.5 hours long.

We haven’t done it yet, but cocktail hour is at 5, dinner at 6:30, and then probably wrapping up around ten. I don’t have late night friends so we figure it’s perfect.
