One of my friends is getting married in April and she's the first in our circle of friends to get married after me, so I will be passing mine onto her. At that point I will have worn it for a little over 6 months. Well, if you count from my civil ceremony that was in May of last year, then I will have worn it for 11 months! Wow. Never thought of it like that before. I wonder if I'll feel more married when my friend gets married since I won't be the latest newlywed. This first year of marriage has been really fun and ticklish and it still feels really new :-) We're coming up on our 6-year dating anniversary in March :-P
We haven't had a wedding since ours, and won't until over a year and a half after. We're having our first anniversary soon though so I don't feel like a newlywed anymore anyway.
Nobody after us is even engaged... so UMM over a year...? Though, I'm hoping our best man will gather up some courage and propose to his girlfriend :}
Pretty interesting results. I'm a little older (knockin on 30's door!) so a lot of my friends are getting married. This past holiday season, I know at least 15 people who got engaged.
Bonsai, crossing my fingers that your best man will propose soon!
Five months...if we'd kept our original date, we would have worn the crown indefinitely!
In my class, there are about 4 or 5 weddings within 4 months of ours. Within my close circle of friends it'll be a while since 4 of my 6 bridesmaids are married already and the other two are not engaged. Mr.ND may have a friend getting engaged in the next 6 months, I'm so excited! My crown varies by location, hehe.
DH's BM got married 2 months after us. We were at another wedding 4 months after we got married.
Its SO nice to just be a guest and not have to plan anything.
You know, we don't actually have ANY weddings coming up in our circle of friends right now! Looks like we'll be the newlyweds for a while!
Hubs was in a wedding 3 months after ours. I was in a wedding 4 months after ours. One of my BM's got married 5 months after ours. So that got us to August of last year. And then this year we have 5 weddings between May 21st and Aug 28th. It's exhausting having so many friends get married!!
Our first wedding after ours is at the end of May - so we will have been newlyweds for 9 months. THen after theirs we are going to 4 other weddings this year!! Even though we might not be newlyweds to others, I dont see why we have to retire the "crown" - cant there be more than one set!? Im not ready to give it up!
I honestly can't think of any of my friends who are dating right now. So I'm guessing it will be at least 6 months until someone gets married. One of my fiance's groomsmen will be getting married but not for another year or so. Good question! :)
15 months for us. But now a ton of our friends are getting married so I guess we kicked off the trend :-)
8 months for us. My wedding was in November and my friends wedding was in July. I still consider myself a newlywed now being married for a year and 3 months.
I don't have any good friends with wedding currently on the horizon, but DH's sister is getting married in September 2011.
we dont have any friends getting married or who are getting married. I think after a year we will be an old married couple. :)
The next person I *know* is getting married is my sister, and that won't be until January 2012...so, unless someone else steps up between now and then, it'll be 15 months almost to the day.
I’m gonna wear the crown as long as possible! We have so many weddings coming up I doubt any of us will get it for more than a few months.
1 whole week for me!
We had a wedding the saturday after our wedding and delayed our HM to go to their wedding!
We had cousins get married about 14 months after our wedding, so that's when we passed the torch along. :)
i wish i had around a year but unfortunately i only have 2 months. there are a ton of weddings in our families/friends right before our wedding and then a couple after.
Well I get to wear the crown quite a bit longer! We were a tad older when we got married and almost all of our friends are already married, so we are the longest reigning "newlyweds" thus far.
Six months and holding, but I wouldn't be suprised if I hold the crown for another year or so! lol! :)
well, we went to a wedding 2 weeks after ours, but one of my BMs got married 6 weeks after us and i was in her wedding as well. no one wears the crown for too long in our group!
One of my bridesmaids is getting married sometime next year I think they are talking about maybe June but there is no set date yet =)
2 of my bridesmaids got engaged before my wedding - their weddings are two weeks apart - one in September, one in October. So I guess about 7 more months! :-)
We haven't had any since ours, which was a year and a half ago now! Although we don't really feel like newlyweds anymore, Mr. Star's younger brother just proposed to his girlfriend this week, and it did make me a little sad to feel like we were "passing the crown," so to speak. Although I'm also really happy for them and excited to have another wedding in the family to get excited about!
I think we'll always consider ourselves newlyweds, because all our friends are married or never planning on getting married.
My friend is getting married almost a month after me. So I guess we are going to have to really party it up!
At my work, one coworker is getting married the month before me and one coworker is getting married the week after me. I am much closer to the one getting married a month after me.
In my group of close friends, neither are engaged. I bet it will be soon for one or both of them though. I can't wait :):):)
None of my girlfriends even have serious boyfriends and most of FI's friends are still in med/law school so I think we'll be the ones for over year, possibly 2-3
No weddings in our group of friends since our wedding in June. Nobody else is engaged right now, either! So, it'll be awhile :)
Theres a wedding a month after mine.. but I dont think that affects our newlywed status though
I'm going to milk it for a year!! People will ask you if you got married for ever because they don't pay any attention.
I'm kind of glad we won't be the reigning newlyweds for much longer (we will have been for almost a year). To me, I kinda feel like it's a right of passage. Silly? Maybe. But I think it's fun!
My husband's cousin got married a month after us...so not very long. But we found out that same day that we were pregnant with the first male great-grandbaby - so we "win". ;)
My brother in law will be getting married in June, just less than 9 months after my Husband and I.
The next of our friends is getting married a year to the weekend from us.
