- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
I thought I’d stop wearing my engagement ring perhaps a couple years after we got married and just wear my wedding ring, but I’ve since lost my wedding ring so now I’m almost "forced" to wear my engagement ring (I like wearing a ring… I just don’t like the bulky engagement ring for "everyday" situations like work). I didn’t think I’d get a replacement wedding ring, but I don’t want to wear my engagement ring every day for eternity because I worry about it, or am afraid the stone will fall out and I won’t notice. I think if the paranoia of loss/damage didn’t exist, I’d love to wear my e-ring for all eternity.
What about you? Do you think you’ll wear your e-ring for all of eternity or do you have an e-ring timeline?

I stopped wearing my engagement ring a year after getting married. I love the simplicity of having just my wedding band.

I plan on wearing it forever! I love my ring and I love the symbolisim behind it. Though, I do take it off to wash the dishes and when I go to the gym. I feel naked without it!

Forever!! I love my e-ring. I’d probably only wear my band for doing certain things, but for the most part I’ll always be wearing it!

I’m with you, caliocteach! I absolutely love my e-ring…I’d feel as if I were abandoning it, if I were to go without it. It’s too pretty to be single again. 😉

I plan on wearing both rings together forever after our wedding. I love my engagement ring so much, I think I’d miss it!

It never occurred to me to NOT wear my E-ring forever. My wedding band is a "wrap" (kinda like this but totally different style), and we’re planning on soldering them together. Not much choice in wearing both! But I still wear my promise ring, I just moved it to my right hand, and I don’t foresee any reason to stop wearing it too.

I want to wear it forever but I guess it will depend. I’ve heard that some people take off their e-ring when they have kids, so the rock doesn’t accidentally scratch the baby.

Foh-ev-ah. I love it. I’m sure there will be occasions when I don’t wear it (i.e., going to the gym, etc) but I wanna rock this rock as much as possible!

I plan on wearing mine forever 🙂 My mom always wore hers (until she lost the stone and got a new one) Plus FH and I both wanted me to have timeless style so I would want to wear it forever 🙂

I will always wear my engagement ring because of the time and effort that went into the purchase by FH. I think it would break FH heart if I stopped wearing it and only wore my wedding band. The engagement ring cost far suppasses the cost of the wedding band at least in my case.

I plan to wear my e-ring forever too 🙂
Over the holidays I was waiting in a long line at the post office next to two grandmas who were chatting about their plans to visit their grandkids over the holidays, recently losing their husbands, etc…and I noticed both were wearing their e-rings and wedding bands…it made me all teary.
I wonder what people do with their rings if they lose their spouse. If it happened to me later in life, I would continue wearing my rings…but I’m not sure what people do when they lose their spouse at a young age. I asked my husband (we agree that we would want the suriving spouse to find love again and remarry) and he said he would continue wearing his wedding band on his right hand. I have no idea…I would probably do the same with my wedding band, but probably not with my engagement ring (maybe have it made into a necklace?)…sorry to be a downer, but sometimes I wonder about things like this…

Forever, it’s too expensive and pretty to just sit in a box for all of its life!

I’m planning on wearing it forever! My fiance spent loads of money on it and I wear it everyday. Whats the point of spending lots and u don’t wear it? Plus my wedding band has a curve on it to fit the e-ring and it would look weird alone.
