I’m about to book some appointments to go try on dresses. There’s 3 stores I want to go to and really only have one day to do it as I want to go with my sister and she’s only going to be in town for one day. I was just wondering how much time I should give myself at each store? Should I even bother going to 3 stores? All of them are smaller stores, so I don’t imagine that they’ll have a whole lot of samples, especially given I’m very particular about what I want in a dress (no white or off white what so ever. I only want a silver/grey or blue dress).
So how long should I give myself for each appointment? Would 3 in one day be too much?

Some stores have set appointment times, like you get an hour block. While others let you have as much time as you want. I would always ask them when I made the appointment. For me, going to 3 in one day would be too much, but if your sister is only in town for one day then it would probably be worth it to go to all three!

All of mine were about 2 hours. I tried on between 5-8 dresses at each store.

My appointment was about 90 minutes I think? I tried on about 8 dresses. I had tons of fun and was surprised by how quickly the time passed.
I think it probably depends on how easily you get overwhelmed/tired out from shopping. I would have no problem doing 3 in one day. My sister, on the other hand, could probably only do one appointment before reaching her limit. If you think you could do the whole day, I would say it’s probably worth it to be able to take advantage of the time with your sister.

I went to all of my appointments with a friend and fellow bride. Both of us worked in formal wear and were just getting ideas, not commiting to a dress. All of our appointments lasted about an hour and we were able to try on about 20-30 dresses in an appointment. Keep in mind it was strictly putting the gowns on, looking in the mirror, snapping a quick picture, and changing. No asking questions, no dillying with accessories, no asking opinions.
All of the stressful debating and decision making was done later 🙂

I only went to one store, and it was a smaller, boutique-type store. We had a morning appointment, so we pretty much had run of the place. It took about an hour, and I tried on 6 different dresses. I just had my mom with me, and I imagine if I’d had more people there to ooh, aah, and offer their opinion, it would have taken longer, as it would have if the store had been busier or been larger.
We went back in the afternoon once I had time to think my decision over and get my measurements done, pay for the dress, and everything else. That took at least another hour.

I’ve had from 1 hour to 90 mins in both salons I have visited.

My appointments were 90 minutes, and I was able to try on TONS of dresses in that timeframe. I’m quick to make decisions though. I did two stores in one evening, so I think three stores in a day is totally do-able 🙂

All three of my appointments lasted about an hour and I tried on 8-10 dresses per appointment 🙂

Mine have been an hour or two.

I did three appointments in one day. Each took probably an hour. I had them spaced out throughout the day. By the last one, I was tired of trying on dresses. Since you are very specific in what you want, it probably won’t take too long or be too tiring.
