So I just looked at the website of where I'm getting my hair done and it says they specialize in airbrush foundation. Do any of you have experience with it? How long does it really last? If I got it applied at say 2PM would it really last all night and be fresh for the ceremony & reception? My ceremony is at 6PM, reception starts at 7PM.

Hi!  I don't know too much about airbrush makeup - BUT, I had my hair/makeup trial last Thurs and they did airbrush makeup.  The makeup was put on about 2p and it lasted the rest of the day/night until I washed it off at 11p.  It still looked good when I washed it off!!  I don't normally wear any makeup so I guess its kind of hard to compare...

I'm with Gardener here.  I'm not a makeup kinda girl so I don't have much to compare, but I really liked the airbrushing.  I had my trial around 7 and I kept it on until I slept around 2 am (late night) and it stayed on.  It feels really good when it's being applied--like a cool mist--and it doesn't feel so cakey and thick, which is what I generally hate about makeup.  As a makeup novice, I recommend it!

I am going with a freelance artist, but I think she uses MAC foundation for airbrushing... I might be making that up.  Undecided

I'm with commoshin - going with a freelance artist, and I didn't pay attention to the brand she was using  Frown

i hated airbrushing.  it made me look terrible.  all the photos of my bachelorette party are ruined.  I would not recommend airbrushing at all.

Air brushing?  Must be California chicks.  Maybe that state will sink one of these days and we will not have to worry about the shallow minds of that embarrassment!

JGreenwood, be nice. Someone is always inventing new ways of doing things, and if airbrushing gives pretty, long stay make up, great. Isn't so much of wedding world about fairly frivolous stuff? That's why it's fun!

I see a few states that are NOT CA mentioned, there, too..!

Airbrush Makeup can last all day and look flawless if properly matched and applied by a professional. I suggest scheduling a trial run with a Professional makeup artist who is trained in Airbrush (FYI- not all makeup artists know how to airbrush). I use Temptu, MAC, Kett and Stream airbrush products in my kit.

Oh yes and I am a Certified Makeup Artist based in South Carolina so it is not just a California thing.

@jgreenwood11@hotmail.com: You are really funny. I guess as a New Yorker I should be waiting to be next :) Anyhow, I've heard of airbrushing and I'm getting married in TX and I will do it.

Pretty much until you take it off.  It doesn't sweat or rub off.  Love that stuff!

I had a trial and it lasted overnight (i purposely did not wash it off). It felt light and was flawless. I am definitley having it done for my wedding. I am having a second trial with another person to compare application (plus she will come to my house).

I've decided to have my makeup professionally done mainly because it is a special occassion and I want to be pampered. Call me shallow if you will.

    jgreenwood11@hotmail.com: that was a tad rude....jeez.

I, myself, have done it (and live in TX) when I was a bridesmaid and it was great. I was very happy with the way it stayed on and didn't get too 'goopy' through the night. I live in a mostly humid climate, so that was a HUGE plus. Also, I have naturally oily skin, and it didn't make me break out. I am not doing that for my wedding day, but would recommend it if that is something that you want to do. There is no real reason for me not doing it either, just decided to go with a make up artist that doesn't do airbrushing.

All in all, you'll be happy with the result! I'm sure of it!!

I had airbrushed this weekend as a bridesmaid and I found it wonderful!  It lasted all day and had a flawless look.  I would recommend it.
