I wondered what the average time was between the engagement and wedding for you fellow bees (just curious really) :-)
You can write/vote about how long it will be if you're not married yet
We're looking at July 2013 which is 19 months after we go engaged, We need the time to save money or we may have picked an earlier date :)
Our engagement will end up being a little over two years long when we're married.
@Scottish_lassie: We'll have been engaged exactly 13 months when we get married in March!
It will be 13 months when we get married.
A little under 11 months when we get married. I was one of the bees that jumped the gun and started planning my wedding before the engagement. =)
It will be 3 months for me. I like having a long engagement because the sooner I get married and the less time I have to be anxious
Ours is 9 - 10 months, we would have preferred 4 - 7 months, but family scheduling wouldn't allow it.
6 months and that was plenty long enough for me :) We got married in the off season though, so vendor's weren't an issue on relatively short notice.
I voted for 1 year, but it will be about 1 year adn 4 months once it's all said and done
1 year and 4 months. We wanted enough time to plan without stress, as well as figure out our school situation. I now wish it was sort of shorter..
@Scottish_lassie: A little less than a year. Our wedding date is November 3 of this year and we got engaged November 23 of 2011. :)
Engaged on christmas, will be married on August 4th...so 7 1/2 months for me...I would have been ready sooner, but family arrangements worked best at that time. The planning is fun, but if I waited any longer, I will get to anxious! Plus, I am so excited to marry bradley, dont wanna wait longer than necessary!
Ours was from the end of January to the beginning of September... So JUST over 7 months :)
We were engaged for 18 months...I rounded up and voted 2 years
We will be engaged exactly a year to the day!
Our engagement is a total of 19 months (currently down to less then 11 months) :)
We got engaged on 30th August 2011 and will get married on February 18th 2012. So that's 5 months and 19 days from the 2 dates. Now we're on countdown - 37 days and counting! Yey!
We got engaged in October 2011, and we'll be married in March 2013...so a year and a half! It's a perfect amount of time for us since I'm in grad school and working full-time. Adding wedding planning makes everything even more hectic!
We will have been engaged for just under 16 months on our wedding day, but we were what I called unofficially engaged (planning but without a ring) for 10 months before that.
Ours will be about 17 months. My bf wanted a year long engagements, our church requires 6 months of marriage prep, and I wanted a summer wedding. We decided to get engaged in February and then married the following July.
We got engaged June 25, 2011 and married October 8, 2011 - so about 3.5 months! I'm usually really indecisive, so I liked the short engagement because it forced me to make decisions more quickly. I actually think I stressed less because of the timeline. That being said, I was pretty much consumed with planning full time for those few months (besides work).
We decided to get married quickly because we'd been dating for 4.5 years and my grandfather's health had not been good. It meant a lot to me that I got to have him there!
Just short of 2 years for us, got engaged at the end of October 2011 and getting married in late Sep 2013. One one the reason for the long engagement was to save some money but also we live in the UK, our families are in Canada and Sweden and we are getting married in Canada so it will even more of a logistical nighmare than most weddings. With this in mind we wanted to make sure our families and friends in Europe are given plenty of notice as well.
Our engagment will be a total of 16 months. We knew we wanted to wait at least a year but didn't want to wait more than two years. We wanted enough time where we could plan what we wanted and have enough time for me to get DIY in that I wanted to do.
About 8.5 months...any longer and I would have gone insane. I got so tired of thinking about it and just wanted to marry him!
SO and I will be engaged by summer of this year. We're hoping/planning for a fall 2013/spring 2014 wedding. It will be over a year, but under two =)
Engaged for 10 months. DH proposed in Febuary and we got married in December. Felt it was the right amount of time for us.
Ours will be 22 months. Mainly because we want a certain time of year, and a certain weekend- and we want to be able to plan everything we want and not have to settle on a vendor or venue :) Things book fast where I live.
We'll be just under 20 months, so I rounded up to 2 years. We're saving all our pennies plus planning from across the country, so the extra time is nice!
Ours was just a week shy of 8 months... we wanted to get the show on the road! Haha!
