I was checking in the off season, so I got responses within 24 to 48 hours. Not making excuses for him, but wedding season is just winding down, so he is probably extremely busy and your wedding is still 11 months away. I suggest that if you don't hear back from him by Monday, you should look elsewhere.
I would already start looking elsewhere. 10 days is a LONG TIME -- especially to have him forward you a list of prices that he already has established and probably in a PDF document on his desktop.
I say that this is a BAD sign & you probably don't want to deal with someone who is already very unresponsive during the stage where he is trying to win your business. You could only expect worse once he has a signed contract and a deposit in his hands. He may be an amazing photographer, but I had a similar situation, and bees suggested (rightly) that the last thing you are going to want to deal with as your wedding approaches is someone who you have to hunt down and is adding stress to your life. You should find a photographer who tries to make your life EASIER, not harder.
I would look somewhere else...i am in the same boat...it took forever to find a photog I loved and it has been 4 days since I called and emailed. I know she has an infant and I take that in to consideration and I am giving her 5 more days, then move on! All you want is a quote!

I have been corresponding with a photographer for 3 weeks. I told him our budget, and he said he would give us a quote, that was 10 days ago.... I'm a little bothered that I have had to "check-in" twice (10 days ago and then again today) and he's not even booked yet. Sound like a bad sign? Thinking I should look for someone else??
