We have been together 2.5 years and i am still a waiting lady!
Together almost 9 beautiful months... Getting married in October, but still waiting on the ring.
I know, I know.... so quick, you say!
We just know ourselves and it didn't take long to figure out it was right :)
weve been together almost a year and a half. we know we want to get married, we know we will someday but i think he wants to be together a little bit longer first.
@gocubbies-its great that you both know what you want already! Every couple is different on that one some sooner some later. LOL
@gocubbies--that's so awesome that it happened so soon! My bf and I have been together for almost a year now (a year March 5), and we really want to get married soon, but our financial situation isn't really allowing for it...making the waiting even more frustrating! But that's great for you--I understand the "happened fast" thing--we would be in the same boat if only this job market would pick up. :)

@gocubbies, no worries! the mister and i both knew this was it by our 2nd month together! and i have a friend who as engaged after 9 months and they'll be celebrating 5 years of marriage this year!
So just to clarify...
Time you waited for a proposal = time you've been dating? Did everyone start "waiting" as soon as the relationship began?
We were together for 2+ years before getting engaged, but I definitely had better things to do for most of that time than think about getting married. I would say I was waiting for a proposal for a couple of months max...before that we were just enjoying the relationship.
Its 2 years now since we've been together and another two years or so will pass before I'm engaged.
Awww! Thanks, Bees for your comments.. So encouraging! I get so scared sometimes because I think "oh, this doesn't happen... that's just for the movies".
I have to tell myself that yes this DOES happen and it DID happen... to me! :)
@cam18 - I can definitely relate. We haven't talked finances with the family yet so I am little uneasy, but we're keeping this thing between $3,000 and $5,000 so I think we'll be okay.

We've been together for almost five years, but I didn't really start considering myself waiting til about a year and a half ago. We've got the date set... but STILL waiting for the ring..
I am still SO SHOCKED at the amount of women who have set a date but still no ring. I thought I was the only one!!! :)
It is not a "good" situation to be in, but it is comforting to know there are others.
We have been together a year and 5 months as of february 12th...March 13th is my birthday and March 12th is our year and a half anniversary...so Im hoping my ring will come on the 12th!! but it could just be wishful thinking...lol
He proposed 11.5 months in I've been engaged since 12-24-09.
I put that i have been waiting 6 months to 1.5 becuase although we have been together 2.5 years I never really thought of getting married until the last year or so!
One year and nine months. I've only been itchy for the last three or four months or so. We're slow movers. (Well, maybe I'm not!)
it's been a little over 3 years that we have been together. I've been wanting to get engaged to him for about half that time. Who knows ow long it will be in the end...
we got engaged after 11 months. and i was probably waiting for that whole 11 months! i knew right away!
We've been together for about fifteen, going on sixteen months. I've been waiting for most of that time, but not impatiently. A proposal is going to happen sometime this year, and a year or two isn't a long time to be together anyway...so I hardly feel like I'm waiting at all!
BF and I have been dating 4 years and 10 months...I have been anxiously awaiting a ring/proposal for a bout a year and 2 months.
My realistic time frame of my engagement date prob wont be til later in the year :(
Been waiting 5 years. It's ok, the wedding is planned in my head thanks to you guys :) Hopefully sometime this summer will be it!
Sorry bout that--suppose I should've clarified or just asked "How long have you been together..." kind of thing--the waiting certainly doesn't start at the beginning of the relationship. :)
5 and a half years and counting. It will be 6 years on the 1st August, but I better not be waiting that long, considering we have already picked our wedding date and location!!
Weve only been dating for 8 months.. but ive loved him for 8 years.. We talked about this 3 years ago even before we started dating.. lol..
Sheesh, there should have been a 10+ option just for me!
We were just about at the 13 year mark before we got engaged:) BUT... we started dating at 14 so obviously I haven't been thinking engagement for that long. I guess techinically I could have been waiting from 18yrs old, but I only seriously got the bug around 25. Then this past Xmas he proposed! (that's 13 years, dating from age 14 until 27) And I honestly would have waited forever for him. We just have so much fun together on all our little life adventures and have always been absolutely commited, ring or not.
p.s. somewhere on our invitation we are putting the word "FINALLY" on it :)
