@Future_Mrs_C25978:  only a month or two but we’ve only been dating about 10 months haha. I know he’s saving for a ring but he said he’s going to be saving until February :/ boo. It is helpful that none of my close friends are engaged or married yet, even though I’m entering my late 20’s! If my female friends were getting engaged, that would make waiting harder.

We’ve been together 6 months, but I’d consider myself officially waiting for about a month now. We talked about kids and marriage on our first date in October, so it’s been a given from the beginning. He’s got a timeline, so I’m just waiting patiently for him to pop the question 🙂 I know it’s happening sometime before Thanksgiving.

Hmmmm. This is a difficult question. I think I started dreaming and thinking about a proposal  about a year ago, when my SO and I reached our 1-year mark. Logically I knew it was too soon, but I could already envision spending my life with him. Our first serious discussion of marriage and timelines came about 6 months later in January. My SO told me then that he still wasn’t quite ready, but for the most part he felt comfortable with a timeline for sometime this summer. So at that point, even though I had already joined as a Waiting Bee, I wasn’t actually waiting for a proposal around every corner. Things really started moving along in March or April, when we both somewhat unexpectedly fell in love with one of his family’s heirloom rings. However, even then I knew a proposal probably wouldn’t be coming until this summer. But now, finally, after much anticipation, I am waiting for a proposal around every corner! I even have a hunch that it may happen within the next week when my SO and I will be on a romantic vacation together! Here is to hoping!

@Future_Mrs_C25978:  ha! I wonder how I would react to a close friend getting engaged. I think we haven’t been together long enough for me to get mad 🙂 I should give him a chance to do his thing. But after 4 1/2 years, I understand why you’d be upset!

SO and I have been together for 1.5 years and we’ve talked about marriage and kids from the beginning. However, I have only really been waiting since about Feb/March of this year. SO has already told me that he wants to get married early next year and I have already told him that I want at least a 5 month engagement. 😀

We’ve been together a bit over two years, and I think I really started waiting about one and a half years in? Or a little before that anyway 🙂 so it’ll be coming up to my first anniversary of waiting soon XD

I think that this is really only the beginning of waiting though, probably got at least another 8 months at best.

I saw the title and my response was “too F’ing long!” lol. Nah… been together 4 years next week, waiting two years probably, Last May he said we would be engaged by the start of this year. Hmmm that didn’t happen.

He knows I want it to happen soon but he is basically scared. He knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and no one else but he is just a bit scared to put his big boy pants on and ask.

We did go to look at rings last weekend to get an idea of what style I like as he has no idea, which is exciting, but I think a proposal is still a long way off, and that sucks because I TOTALLY fell in love with a ring I saw (2nd hand, perfect specs, perfect price, will be hard to match it!)…. which is just sooooo typical and totally predicatable! Ugh.

I waited for a year and a half after he got my ring. We lived together for two and a half years before getting engaged, adopted a third dog five months before we got engaged, combined our finances a year before getting engaged…
