Usually I work from home, so I have zero commute. However, when I’m in the office, it is about 1.5 hours. This is very standard in Toronto where a lot of folks live in the ‘burbs but commute to the city. I wouldn’t bat an eye at taking a job that was an hour away – it’s just what I am used to and I don’t feel it can be avoided, at least where I live.
Having said that, it does suck 😛
What about you?

Too effing long! basically 1 hr each way. I leave at 6 AM and get home at 5PM most days.

…if I take the LONG way….3 minutes

30-45 minutes each way, depending on the traffic. But my job before this one was 2-2.5 hours each way (only 33 miles), thanks to LA traffic! So happy to have a bearable commute!

1 hr. to and from work. I drive for 20 minutes, park my car and then, take the train into downtown. It should only take me 15 min. to get into downtown but during rush hour, it’s hell.

15-20 minutes. I would hate anything longer. When we were apartment searching we looked at places within a half hour of our jobs.

About 30-45 minutes for us.

1 hr 15 min each way using public transportation. I HATE IT! It’s exhausting and I feel like half my life is spent on a train. Since DH works from home it looks like we will be moving soon.

It used to be 30 mins each way, but something weird has happened to traffic and it’s more 1.5 hrs each way now.

30 minutes, door to door on the subway

15-30 mins depending on traffic. If it’s really bad, maybe 45 mins.

@MrsPanda99: I work close to downtown Toronto and live in Scarborough. It takes me about 40 minutes to get to work. I dont think that is too bad. I will be moving to Ajax in a month so my commute will increase to an hour or more but luckily I work hours that are not rush hour times. I’m not too worried now but I will be once winter rolls around. Luckily I have the option of taking the GO train if the weather is super bad so that makes it a bit better.

2 hours 10 mins using public transport. I am luckily allowed to work from home a lot so only tend to go in 2-3 times a week. But I HATE it!! I can’t wait to find a job closer to home.
