Just wondering how long everyone takes to commute to work every day?
I am a consultant, and typically my projects are all out of town and I travel M-TH, stay at a hotel 5 minutes away from my client site…(My life has been like this for the last three years).
Well, I just got put on a local client project (prob for 6 months+) and I have to drive 45 minutes to the client site…. AH I’m so NOT use to it… Traffic in the mornings and evenings is a bitch, plus all those crazy drivers! lol
Anyways, anyone commute more than me?!

@weddingbee098: When I walk it take 30 minutes door to door. I normally take Car2Go and it just took me 5 mins to get here.

20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

@weddingbee098: 10-15 minutes driving– I’m about 5 miles away from my work.

45 minutes door to door driving. I take the longer way avoiding the highway because it is packed with traffic in the morning

35 minutes via public transportation.

I live in the DFW north suburbs and work in another north suburb. I’m fortunate that I don’t have to drive into Dallas proper. My commute is about 15-20 miles, but with traffic, it’s about 30-35 minutes. I can’t complain.

Mine is about 6 miles and takes about 20-30 minutes. Usually 20 min is the norm, but afternoon commute can be longer depending on traffic and weather conditions (mostly in winter).
ETA: I drive myself, 6 miles – then park in a parking ramp – walk about a block and a half to work.

@weddingbee098: I don’t, thankfully. I commuted briefly after I finished University and moved back into my parents house.. it was about an hour and half each way by public transit, an hour by car. It was terribly exhausting.
Now my commute is a 30 minute walk, each way.

FI drops me off on his way to work (thank goodness he has free parking at his job, which is RARE in DC!) so I’m only in the car for about 15 minutes. He has another 20-25 minute drive from there.

@weddingbee098: Yup, me. My commute is TOO long. It’s about a little over an hour from when I get on my bus to when I am in the office. And that’s on a normal good day. It can take up to 1.5 hours on a bad day.
On the plus side, I am not driving, so I use my commuting time to catch up on my Kindle.

At the last two schools I worked at, I commuted 20-30 mins each way by car. It wasn’t too bad, but I wouldn’t be thrilled with a commute that was any longer.
