When you contact a Vendor, how long is your grace period before you give them the BUH BYE, or contact them again?
Last Wednesday I emailed my cake Vendor. They emailed me back the next day saying they can accomodate my request and to please send them pics of how I want my cake designed. I returned the email the following day on Thursday with the info they needed and asked them what sort of payment do they need to lock in the order.
Today is Monday and I still havent heard from them. Should I give them a whole week and wait till Thursday before I contact them again?
Or should I chill out, and hope for the best.
The Wedding is in under a month. ( small wedding, so all I need is a small cake)

I give them a week if they’ve been good previously, or a little more if it’s not a pressing matter/far out from the wedding. I think there is no harm in emailing them again in a day or two, since your wedding is close.

For a baker, I would give them a few more days. It’s hard for many of us in the ‘industry’ because our weekends are when we are busiest, then ‘our’ weekend is often on Mondays/Tuesdays or something so it takes a little longer to get back to people who are not used to the off schedule.
Plus they may need to prioritize making sure they handle messages from this coming weeks brides or what haveyou, and you’ve still got a few weeks to go.
I know it’s frustrating, but if by Wednesday evening you don’t hear anything, forward your message again with a note stating you still haven’t heard and you need an answer by Friday morning. Sometimes that will help push them along a little.
Don’t sweat it too much until then.

My cutoff is 3-5 business days depending on how many other vendors I can go to. I do not count weekends at all since I figure that is when wedding vendors are busiest!
