I’m just curious and heck who doesn’t love a poll. I’ve tried to list the most common names and lengths, but found out that there are no common stadards. Pics are also awesome!
I’ll show you mine if you show me yours!

This is not the veil I went with and mine was a bit longer, but to give you an idea….

I had a 6′ for the ceremony, luncheon and couple photos, a 3′ for the start of the reception and a hair thingy that I wore once the party and dancing really got going

Cathedral! My veil was my favorite part of my entire wedding look! I love it so much I have contemplated wearing it around the house… and it’s months now since the wedding.

AAAHHHHH!!! I LOVE CATHEDRAL LENGTH VEILS!!!! Here’s me! 😀

I loved my veil 🙂 we got married outside so I definitely didn’t want a cathedral veil – all the redwood needle things would have gotten stuck in it!

Mine was cathedral. I loved it!

How do you get the veil fluttering in the wind look? Are you lucky enough to get a perfectly timed gust of wind or is there a wind maker? I’m curious because I love when a veil does that and wanted to know if there was a trick to get it to do that.

I went for a cathedral veil, something I thought I didn’t want, but then I tried one on and it felt so bridal and then so right.

Mine is close to royal length, longer than cathedral. It was custom made to reach the end of my train.

I had a fingertip veil. Why are fingertip and shoulder lumped together in the same poll option? Why are there so many different lengths lumped into pairs? Is it for two-layered veils? Mine was a single-layer fingertip.

I initially thought I wanted fingertip but ended up going with cathedral because it just felt SO bridal to me.

@aggie2010: I ended up doing best guess lumping because as it turns out there are very few hard and fast lengths and names. What one site defines as one length will be defined as another by another site. It is amazingly confusing. Wishing to avoid my growing headache at what I thought would a simple poll I opted to add lengths and give the most common names. As for singly or double layer, that’s totally up to you. I love pics because it allows everyone to see what you decided which is always better than a description! In addition adding layers as another option makes the poll unbelievably complicated.

@renwoman: My trick: There is a bench just to the left off camera. My mother stood on top of the bench, held my veil up and let it fall. Meanwhile my photographer snapped a billion shots. It took two tries to get the perfect, natural looking photo.
