I'm surprised at how short some weddings are.  I'm wondering how long everyone's wedding day is.

My ceremony was at 2pm and the reception didn't get done until midnight.  We were there right until the end.  That's 10 hours.  Not to mention the fact that I was up at 6:30AM to start getting ready and to do photos before the ceremony.

So what was/is your timeline like?

We're having an evening wedding, so our ceremony starts at 5, our reception will be over around 11:30.  We'll be up getting ready from 8 am on though!

We had a 4:30 p.m. ceremony, which lasted no more than 20 mins, and our reception ended at 10:30. We started photos at 2 p.m.

We're starting our ceremony at 4 and it's ending at 10 (it has to b/c the noise curfew) We might have a little after party depending on how we feel though!

Well in my original timeline the ceremony was to begin at 7:15pm then reception to follow immediately until 10-11pm depending on how guests were dancing and etc. well everything went completely wrong that day and i didnt make it down the aisle until almost 9pm (due to my doc ditching me the day of at 1pm!) ARG!  So by that time the dj had used most of his time and he left around 11pm, which wasnt very long at all, it flew by, at the end of the night we wished we had a cd player so we could continue the dancing but we made it up to our rooms around 1am (due to missing doc we had to take care of everything afterwards as well) I was exhauseted because i had done it all that day and had a nervous breakdown and it was awful but the dancing was a lot of fun. We would have been out there longer if the dj didnt leave!

Our ceremony starts at 5 but we are doing some pictures before and a spa monring with the girls, so I'll be up super early because of that and nerves! Kinda like when you were a kid on Christmas morning and couldn't sleep! We're doing a cocktail hour from 6-7 for guests while we do more pictures and then 7 is dinner and we want it to go until about 11-12 with dancing and partying! It'll be a long day, but I'm so excited!!

Our final interview (so that they know we're actually together, not marrying so I can stay in the country or anything) is at 10AM. Our service starts at 10:30AM. We'll be married by 11AM. Our reception starts at 1PM and will finish at 5:30PM. It'll be a long day!

Ceremony at 4:30pm. Reception ends at 10pm (ceremony and reception at same venue). I think I'd be too exhausted if I had an early afternoon ceremony and went late into the night for the reception. But that's just me! For those who want too, I think it's great!

Ceremony at 3:30, out of the reception hall by 10 (venue rules... sucks but I love our venue so I compromised). I imagine we'll be after-partying at the hotel.

My mother in-law said all the old people would be gone by 10PM!! Is that true? My ceremony is at 5:30PM and I was hoping to make it to midnight!

For those who lasted so late did people filter out in an age according manner or was everyone there all night to celebrate? How many hours did u book the dj for??

There are many afternoon/night wedding! Mine is suppose to start at 10:30 am and reception luncheon immediately following which is suppose to end by 4pm.. very short amount of time, I have no idea how I'm going to get photos shots in.. probably will have to do it before the ceremony or after the reception.
