The wedding was 2 weeks ago and we just got back from our honeymoon on Friday and I have plenty of pics from friends and family to keep me happy for the moment, but I’m wondering how long does it take to get the proofs on average (if there is an average)? I know they clean up the photos, edit, etc., so it does take time and I’m not that nervous…yet…but I haven’t heard a peep out of the photographer, so I’m just curious.

It usually takes between 4-8 weeks. We had to wait 8 weeks and 3 days for ours. It was AGONIZING waiting that long, but it was definitely worth it.
Does your photographer have a blog? Perhaps they’ve put a few teasers up there.

I think it depends on the photographer – we had proofs up on their website (small watermarked ones) within 2.5 weeks of our wedding. After that, we got the DVD of the high quality images within another few weeks.

it took our photographer about 6 weeks to get digital proofs for us….we had a couple teasers up after a couple of weeks. you should ask your photog!

5-8 weeks seems to be the norm!

Our photographer blogged about 30-35 photos a day or two after the wedding and then we received two discs with all of the edited images about 10 weeks after the wedding.
