When he bought the ring we originally decided on white gold, but a couple weeks later I decided I wanted the same setting but in platinum. We are working with a private jeweler (so not a big mall place like Jared or Kay’s). We took it in exactly two weeks ago, and they said they would have to order the platinum setting because they did not have it in the store. I haven’t heard anything from them yet, not even an estimate for how long it will take for it to be ready. Has anybody had a similar experience? How long did it take for them to order the new setting and reset your diamond?

I got my diamond reset by a private jewler as well. I found a setting in his store I really liked that already had a diamond in it. So my diamond had to be sent away where they would build that specific setting for my diamond. The jewler told me 3 weeks…but it actually took 4 weeks. It felt like forever! But I was really happy with the results. I don’t know the average wait time when it comes to resetting or changing things on a ring, but I have a feeling a couple of weeks is the usual. I had to wait the same amount of time when my old e-ring setting had to be fixed because of the prongs. But hopefully you’ll get your ring soon and love it!
