How long to wait before calling the doctor? Going off the pill.

I went off BCP after almost 10yrs. After going off the pill I got my period a week later and then the next one in 31 days. Since then I have not got my period. I know it's normal not to get your period immediately but since I already go it, I don't know if it's strange that I'm late. I did take a test and it was negative. I just wasn't sure at what point of missing my period should I contact the doctor (it's been 7 weeks).

When did you take the test?  Have you taken a second one recently?

I would probably call my doc-- your doc might say it is completely normal, especially if a very recent pregnancy test was negative, but it's worth a phone call.

I just recently went through this! Stopped the pill, withdrawal bleed, got period 36 days later, then didn't get it again for 46 days. I went to my doctor and she said to wait until I hadn't had one for 3 months. I think my period came 2 days after that visit. It's frustrating but I'm told it's normal!!

@HopingToBeAMoma- The last test I took was Sunday.

@OttawaBride2011- Thanks. I'll wait unto three months to call. I is so frustrating. I was so excited that I got it right away and that my cycles would be normal and I was ovulating but I guess not.

I'd contact the doctor, it's possible that you have an underlying thing giving you irregular periods that you didn't know about because you've been on BC.
