I was just wondering how long it took to get your engagement photos back from your photographer? We had our engagement shoot back on April 5th, and have yet to see proofs or anything. Is it normal to have to wait over a month to get them back?

I assume your photographer didn’t give you a timeline? At this point I would definitely email them and ask for an update or at least some proofs. I’m a photographer and my engagement photo turnaround is within 2 weeks for the full set, and I usually send a sneak peek within 48 hours.
If you’re using this photographer for your wedding, I’d definitely get a date for photo delivery added to your contract so everyone is on the same page before the wedding. Good luck!!

Depends on the photographer and their workload. Our photographer told us upfront that it was normally 6-8 weeks to get photos back for engagement sessions. We actually received ours within 4 weeks because we took our photos at the end of wedding season and she could get to editing ours more quickly. Your photographer may have given you a rough estimate in a previous message, but you should ask them for an update if over a month has passed with no word.

kellykapoor: We did get a timeline of 2 weeks with a promise of a teaser within 48 hours. I had gotten so busy that I didn’t even realize how much time has passed and we still hadn’t received anything. I will definitely add a delivery date for photos into our contract! Thanks so much!
bleusteel: I will be getting in contact with her today. I understand being busy especially in the wedding industry but it would have been nice to hear something. Especially since she had promised 2 weeks.

my photographer let me see the photo after 1 week and I have to select 25 photos to retouch for printing + album
Another 6-8 weeks, I can see the album

We got a sneak peek with a few photos a few days after our shoot and then the full set of engagment photos on a CD by mail within about 3 weeks.

We heard back from our photographer she had sent out our photos on a usb a few weeks ago. Apparently good old Canada Post decided that it was a good idea to return to sender, rather that leave a note saying a package was available for pick up.
Anyways we are getting our pictures overnighted by UPS to us so we should have them by later on tomorrow! Yay! So can’t wait to see how they turned out!
