Ah, that title sounds awful, but let me explain!

Our wedding was about three weeks ago. Several of my mom's friends who attended did not get us a gift or a card, but told us that one was "on the way." Every time I talk to my mom, she tells me, "Oh, they're coming, just be patient!" I'm not bothered by this at all, it's just that the only things left on our registry is some china, and we're having some family come into town at the end of the month, and we wanted to have a dinner party and use all our new stuff. And with that 10 percent registry completion offer at BBB, we're pretty much ready to run to the store :)

However, the china is pretty much ALL that's left, give or take a kitchen gadget here and there, and my mom wants me to leave them on so that people will still have something to buy, because according to her, they want to give the china. Oy!

So, how long did you all wait before rushing out to the store to buy everything left on your registry? How long after your wedding did you received gifts? I get the feeling we're not going to see anything from these guests (which is fine, but a card with some well-wishes would have been nice), but my mom thinks otherwise.

@missrain: Yeah, we thought if that, but when you use the registry completion offer at BBB to get the discount, it automatically takes the things you purchased off, so people wouldn't have the option to buy them (well, the option is there, but that would be silly!).

I'm really glad that this is my current big problem in life, by the way! I feel silly even asking.
