ours is 45 minutes.  I think that an hour and a half would be fine as long as there’s tons of food.  the last wedding i went to we had over an hour for the cocktail reception and the food ran out in 20 minutes.

My ceremony time is 6 p.m. with the reception at 7:30.  It’s going to be about a 45 min. – 1 hr. cocktail hour.  I probably wouldn’t make it any longer because I know people tend to get antsy.

Our cocktail "hour" was supposed to be an hour – 6:45-7:45 – but we ran late with pictures because we couldnt find the limo so we didnt do our grand entrance until about 8:15 or so, so it ended up being 1.5 hours but it was ok because we had hors d’ oeuvres and drinks the entire time and a photobooth for the guests

Ours was 1.5 hours.  We had plenty of drinks, food, and diversions for our guests though!
