We've been dating a year and a half minus a couple months for a "break" plus a couple more before it becomes officially official. The engagement will be either a little over or a little under a year depending on which of two dates we select.
Dated for 3.5 years before we were engaged and now we're at the tail end of our 2 year engagement. We're getting married on our 5.5 year anniversary! :) Woohoo!
We met awhile before we got engaged, but he was dating someone else. They broke up. Then, we dated about ten months until he (a former dating coach!) proposed. Our engagement is about 11 months -- which in New York City is pretty short, given the difficulty and expense of finding venues and vendors for anything less than three billion dollars.To sum it up, we dated from Feb. 12, 2007 until Dec. 24, 2007, when we were engaged.
I suppose the most interesting thing about our relationship is that I am 32 and he is 27 -- I'm about 5 1/2 years older. I love that now this is an option for both men and women who fall in love, that there's no longer a lot of stigma. Just a good amount of teasing. :)
Dated for six months. Then me a my (2) teenage daughters moved in with my honey. Been living togther for (10) years been engaged for one year wedding this August.......long process. LOL
We're one of the shorter relationships on here! We dated nine months and then got engaged. We will be engaged for exactly 6 months before we get married on Sept. 1, 2008. My mom says she always knew that I would have a quick engagement! I guess we just both knew and my mom knew my personality well enough!
Dated for 3 years and our Engagement looks like it will be approx. 15 months. We didn't necessarily want such a long engagement but that's the way the timing is working since we got engaged on V-day and are looking to get married in May 2009 bc we're hoping for warmer weather.

Dated 6 mos, then a 6 mos engagement...our first real date was June 15, 2007 and we're getting married June 14, 2008. We're both 28 and knew when we found "the one."
We got engaged just shy of 4 years from our first date. Engagement will be about a year and a half (long distance planning needs time.) :)

Dated for 9 years (will be 10 by the wedding date), will have a 15 month engagement.

When we started talking about getting married, I told my mom who told my brother who said, "That's totally not going to happen." Proved him wrong!
