@Mrs_Grenier: Good luck with meeting his family!
I met my FI’s parents before we started dating. I went over for dinner all the time as his friend, so they were not surprised at all when we began dating. =D
I met his ENTIRE family 4 months after we started dating. It was absolutely crazy!

@Mrs_Grenier: Wow! We werent even official when I met his family. Shortly after we become official he met my whole family including extended family. I met his family after 2 weeks of dating and he met mine a few weeks after we became official. We have been together 5 years now. His mom lived in the same city but I met her and his GMa at the beach and my family lived 2-3 hours away.

We live in a small town and knew each others families before we started dating. His mom was my skill center bus driver for two years in high school. My sister dated his uncle for a long time before we got together. But i would say I officially met them as the girlfriend after a few months if being together.

I met his parents/family about 2 months afters we became official (2 weeks into dating). But I totally understand the long distance family situation because my family lives 1000 miles away so FI didn’t meet my family until 1.5 yrs after we began dating and he really has only met them 3 times. My parents love him though so it worked out!
Good luck meeting his family!! 🙂

I am over 50, and an Encore Bride… and was in no rush to ever get married again.
So I didn’t see the point in introducing my Romantic Partners to my Elderly Parents (kind of in the same way one doesn’t introduce small kids to Boyfriends until there is a thought of it being somewhat long-lasting / permanent)
Mr TTR and I dated for about 2 Years before they met.
I am happy to report they get along, and like / respect each other.

1.5 years, because we met abroad. I met his family after we moved back to the U.S. He met my father after we were together 9 months, because my father came from the U.S. to visit. My mother couldn’t come then, so he met her around the same time I met his family.

I met his parents before we started dating as it was back in high school. I met his grandparents at our high school graduation and his aunt a couple years later. He says that I WILL NOT meet the rest of his family. They don’t get along very well and he says the only time I might meet them is if someone dies and we go to the funeral.

Just over 2 months after being officially girlfriend/boyfriend. I was a little nervous, but shouldn’t have been- his mom told me she could tell by the way he talked that he was over the moon for me, ha.
Now, my fiance met my parents literally the day after we became official, at my college’s football game. Poor guy.
