We did seven nights and eight days in Jamaica. Perfect amount of time, in my opinion.
My FH and I had originally planned on 2 weeks in Italy but then extended our trip to be at the Vatican for Easter (once in a lifetime). So we will be gone for 18 days.
We're going for 2 weeks. We were going to do 3 but we went to Hawaii a couple weeks ago and used one of our vacation weeks, so now we won't have enough vacation hours saved up. No complaints though, 2 weeks will be great!
Our "official" honeymoon will probably be 10 days in Jamaica. We won't be going till 8 months after the wedding. But luckily for us, the FH's company picnic is in Puerto Rico 2 weeks after the wedding! So we get *something* even if he'll be tied up with business for a lot of it. :)
Going to Thailand and Cambodia for a total of two weeks. Wish we could do more but neither of us have the vacation time or $$$ for a three week trip over there.
We're doing 2 weeks in Hawaii. Can't wait!! (Plus we can take time to see more than one island!)
I want the longest honeymoon possible! We're both saving up vacation time for it! At LEAST 7-10 days. :)
Hopefully we can do a week. We're having a weird time at work, opening two new outpatient centers, a huge new patient tower, and our staff is now broken apart into the 3 locations beginning at the end of March. We only have 6 in our specialty so this will be an adjustment and our days of just getting off as long as we want to might not be able to happen. Sigh.
We're going all the way to Africa, so the longer the better... but we're up against some serious work demands. Ideally, we'd be gone for 3 weeks, but in all likelihood, it will be more like 2.
9 night and 8 days :) in French Canada and then when we get back the next weekend is Labor Day Weekend!
Well, between my graduation and moving after the wedding, and two really close friends getting married this year, Fi's time-off is pretty much gone. So, we're taking a 3-day minimoon. We're planning a longer vacation for our 1-year anniversary.
We're spending 2 weeks in French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea).
Hopefully 6-7 nights in either Jamaica or Bahamas. We would go longer if we could... if only we had more money!!
we're going on a 7 day caribbean cruise with one day in ft. lauderdale before the cruise leaves. i'm already excited for the trip!
Because FI will still be in the first year of his new job, I don't think we'll be able to afford him taking off anymore than 1 week from work, or an extended vacation. We plan on taking a 3 day minimoon and then having 4 days to relax and get settled after the wedding. We will then--hopefully-- take a longer vacation for our 1 year anniversary.
We are doing two weeks just cause we are doing hawaii and we dont know when we would pay to get there again.
But if we were doing any other island we would probably only do a week.
we're hoping to go away for 4 weeks!! My FI has time between the bar exam and work starting, and I am going to take 2 weeks of unpaid leave. woo-hoo!
We are taking 2 weeks in Japan for cherry blossom viewing in March. We can't wait to leave :)
We're planning on 3 weeks in Indonesia/Malaysia. It's the only reason I'm staying put at my not-so-fab job for now! I know they won't bat an eye when I take the time off.
We're using my parents' timeshare....so Sunday-Saturday was our only option. =)
But we were willing to take those dates. (Who in their right mind would say "no" to the Riviera Maya?)
We are using my parents timeshare for our honeymoon also! :-D It's a great way to save!
We are doing 8 days! We aren't leaving until the week after the wedding, so I'll have extra time to pack and can semi go back to work. October can't get here soon enough!
I think it is a good idea to take some time off after the wedding before you go on your honeymoon! If you have the option to do that, it's a good idea. It lets you unwind from the wedding before you travel, since traveling can be stressful.

I am just curious how long people typically honeymoon for?? I say the longer the better, but I don't know how realistic that is...ha.
