Hey bees, I was seriously stressing over our honeymoon, because fi just started his job 6 months ago, I was concerned when our honeymoon came around, he wouldn’t be able to take any days off! It was freaking out me.
I read his handbook, and he discussed it with his boss, after working there 2 years [which he will be when before our wedding], he will get 10 days vacations [+ his alotted 2 days off], for a total of 14 days!
I’m so excited!
We were looking to stay 3 nights at a casino, 3 nights at sybaris, and at least 3 in chicago, so it looks like we’ll be spending a few more nights in chicago!
How many days are you & your fi taking for your honeymoon?

We have been discussing taking two weeks. We want to go to Japan and he wants to visit back home (the Philippines). So we figure with travel time, we can spend a few days in each place. This is all assuming we have the money and can take all the days off.

we’re going for 8 days. I have 30 days vacation this year so we could have gone for another week but it’s only March and I’m a vacation time hoarder! I like to save some so we can do a summer and a fall trip, too!

When we got married last July, we did 4 days in Florida the week after the wedding, mostly because we couldn’t afford a longer/nicer honeymoon. We’ve been saving this year and are using some of our gift money to go to Europe for 3 weeks this summer as our true honeymoon/anniversary trip. (We’re both teachers, so we don’t have to worry about taking days off in the summer for travel)

8 days/7 nights. Mini road trip through Southern California – Disneyland, Universal, going to the beach, The Price is Right, LA, Hollywood, the walk of fame, etc. We’re such big kids. . . relaxing on vacation isn’t an option for us, lol. =)

We’re doing a short mini-moon right after the wedding for 4-5 nights. We’re going to stay at my grandmother’s condo in Fort Lauderdale – which should be really cheap. The the real honeymoon is a couple months later. We’re going to Africa and it takes almost 2 days to travel each way so it doesn’t make sense to go for a week. So we’re planning 3 weeks. A little bit over with travel. I get great vacation time at my work so I’ll just be taking regular PTO. My fiance only gets 2 weeks per year so he will be taking an unpaid leave of absence during the honeymoon.

We’re doing 7 days at our honeymoon destination, and then taking an extra week off work just to be home and be married.

we both just started new jobs (he will have been there 6 months by the time we get married and i will have been at my job for only 5 months), but they are letting us take our honeymoon since it’s already been booked. we are going to punta cana for 6 days 5 nights. that’s all we could afford anyway lol!

We did Tuesday to Tuesday.

We’re taking 5 days in Chicago, and then a day to relax/recover at home once we’re back before we go to work. My Fiance doesn’t get any paid vacation time at his job, so we really can’t afford to take more time than that.

We are going for at least 7 weeks, probably longer. We are both into long-ass holidays and since we are in Australia and travelling to South America and want to see at least 2 countries and have a NYC chaser, any shorter doesn’t feel worth it to us

The minimum will be 14 nights, but ideally we’d like to go for 18-21 nights. OH has limited holidays though (just 20 days, 5 of which have to be taken at Christmas), so 21 nights might be pushing it unless he takes some unpaid leave/makes the time up. It will also depend on where we go an how we book it eg if we go with a package holiday to Mexico, for example, we have to go for either 14 or 21 nights and can’t do something in-between unless we book everything separately, which works out way more expensive.

ours was 5 nights. i would have preferred at least a week, but we couldn’t find a vacation package (that we could afford) for that long

We took a week. A couple nights in Vegas and a road trip.

We’re doing 2 weeks! A week on a cruise in the Western Carribean, three nights in San Juan in Puerto Rico, and three nights of at home staycation post-honeymoon!
